Yeah because neither Donald or Coton has never told a white lie in their life to protect their interests. It's not rocket science, if they are both saying different things, like you said, then one of them is either wrong or lying.
I think Coton's main point was that we need to shift out players first. Not because we need the money but because if these players don't move on, there is no point in replacing them.
He said we have a budget which would be considered hefty for league one. Coton said we haven't got a great deal to spend (you don't need a great deal in league one) so both could easily be telling the truth
Think it's spin. Donnie is getting the fans excited about budgets competitive to competitors while Coton is telling clubs, players and agents to **** off if they want to try it on. It's likely somewhere in between. We'll have enough to get what we need but we won't be overspending... ideal.
Undestandable that fans are anxious after back to back relegations and years of struggle and poor performance. If the new manager had a plan to get in new players, he should be getting on with it because we know a lot of the squad want to be away and we badly need some fresh blood
Think it's wise to wait until the training camps finished and he's assessed the squad/who's staying. As opposed to buying blind. Good news is coming.
The world cup is on mate, we'll have to wait until the players have come back from that before we can begin talking with them, anyway.
It's like moving house and chains mate. Once the big transfers go through it all starts moving but not much happening until init. And that ain't happening until the wc is over. It's slow all over. I'm throwing my enthusiasm into the world cup meantime. Keeps the craziness at bay.
https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...inancial-rules-they-have-to-satisfy-1-9207785 Budget or not, it's explained in the article that in league one, we have to show that wages do not exceed 60% of our turnover (75% this 1st season). This means we have to shift our high earners, otherwise the EFL could potentially put a transfer embargo on us if our wages are too high.
Yeah we will definitely need to get rid of some. Our turnover will be massive for league one though. We will have a big wage budget for that league. It will at least cover Rodwell. Vomit

I have also heard a reasonable number of times a name of a certain chap who was paid premier league wages while not even playing in the championship being mentioned. I wonder whether his name being mentioned equates to him doing something right!
Ok then but a Scottish guy on nowt with a bit of notice and press doesn't really compare to a lazy arsehole millionairre who could have been something. What's your point or am I missing something? Sorry if you're being too subtle for me here!
Thanks Nacho, wasn't sure what to make of that, dredging up an irrelevant post from weeks ago.wasn't sure if an attempted WUM or a point I was missing really. Put it down to cultural differences I think! Where do you live mate? That looks a canny spot on your avatar
Yeah I think he's usually on the wind up but you have to try and decipher what he's saying so it doesn't really work. I'm from Yorkshire mate and live there now, that's just a photo I took in GTA. Wish I did live somewhere like that but my wife's not keen on living abroad because of family ties etc.
Haha, looks unreal and literally is! Yorkshire's a canny spot though, many holidays there and such variety across the county. Almost as good as Northumberland. . .
