Despite the fact that I think they will play very cautious football I hope Portugal win, because my Portuguese neighbour has invited us over tomorrow and I want him in a good mood so he gets the ‘special’ wine out. My Spanish relatives need to step up the gifts to gain my allegiance.

Forget who they are and watch them play. If you don’t like them after that you don’t like football. Great game, loving this. Before Costa’s superb goal Ronaldo was defending a corner inside his own six yard box, then was suddenly squaring the ball inside the Spanish box on the break. Outstanding.
Is that Karius in goal....? Maybe he was concussed? No matter how you feel about Ronaldo, he's a fantastic player, gives his all for his club and country - over 80 international goals, with another 2 tonight.

I don't like him either, but no one could deny that he's a great of the game. Not in the top three for me, though. Maybe top 5 or 6.
