The thing about football is spreading it round the world & improving world football, how can you do that with 5 English teams & 5 Spanish teams? How will small emerging nations improve their leagues if they incapable of getting to the CL, getting the extra finance, experience & making a name for themselves? The CL is fine as it is with smaller nations able to qualify easier then previous years. Some of the clubs you've never heard of are actually pretty decent too.
I wouldn't give La Liga 5 places. Barca and Real apart, the rest of that league is dross. Teams like Valencia, Sevilla and Villareal usually get pumped out early. Whereas every year all 4 EPL teams get through to the knockout stages. I would guarantee the EPL 6 places. Reduce La Liga to 3 and the German league to 2.
How about just getting back to how it should be. CHAMPIONS League for CHAMPIONS ONLY. How the feck they can continue to mis-represent, by calling it the Champions League is beyond me. Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Real etc etc NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Can't win your league, you shouldnt get a chance to win ol' big ears. You can still seed it so English, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italians etc still get auto entry. But atleast get football back to being about football, not how much money you can make.
Lol. EPL is the best league in the world, best players come cause the clubs have the most money, Bar Barcelona(who are the best club side in the world, by far) and Real madrid, the rest of the league is mediocre.
Blackburn Stoke Wolves QPR Norwich Aston Villa Bolton Sunderland Newcastle West Brom Everton Wigan Swansea Fulham Would all get pumped in La Liga... EPL - Most overated League in the world!
Everton are okish, the rest are either just average or plain Mediocre. Seen half the teams in La liga? there also of simillar level or even worse. Difference those teams in the premier league have more money, and can sign better players for money/wages which those La liga club don't have.
Apart from the obvious one's, apart from a few signings, EPL team's scouting sucks. They be getting better/higher quality caliber players for the money can afford and not waste money on mediocre players.
Exactly, those teams who should be competitive and signing world class players, are average, would be midtable clubs in the Premier league, again, cause they don't have the money to compete for the better players.
Anyone who says the Premiership is a joke is obviously a jealous scotsman. It's the best league in europe, but the Manchester clubs have ruined it, United by having the FA and Referees association on their side, and City by having way too much money. Aside from those two, it's a great league. Spurs didn't play too badly against City, it's just the money wiining them matches, but we were dreadful against United. I have never seen such a poor Arsenal performance.
I disgree. The Bundesliga is better than the spanish league. There are more than 2 teams who can win matches.
please log in to view this image But its the best league in the world.... the best league in the world...
Are you joking? Sure, Real Madrid and Barca would thrash most if not all of them, but it seems far too many people look at the fact that they are excellent footballing sides and assume all La Liga clubs are the same. As I said before, Madrid's second-string thumped Valencia (who finished third, 20-something points behind Madrid) 6-3 away last year, and it was only that close because they eased off at 6-1. Out of the following teams, who do you think would avoid being "pumped" in the Premier League? Athletic Bilbao, Atlético Madrid, Real Betis, Espanyol, Getafe, Granada, Levante, Málaga, Real Mallorca, Osasuna, Racing Santander, Rayo Vallecano, Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Sporting de Gijón, Valencia, Villarreal, Real Zaragoza
Oh, and I see Barca beat Champions League entrants Villarreal 5-0 tonight. Tut tut, what a poor league.
