He's the one being mentioned by a journo on twitter. Potential loan deal. I was unsure about Welbeck when he signed but proved us wrong and did well but Macheda?? I'm not sure. Hasn't done anything of note for a year or two since he scored that fluke v us. Welbeck was brought in behind Gyan and Bent as 3rd choice. If we did sign him then what difference would he make? An extra number IMO we need to be looking to bed Wickham and Ji into our team behind two proven strikers. Macheda would only stunt their development I reckon. Hopefully I'm proved massively wrong but for me he's not the solution. I'd much rather have Pav, Defoe, Bendtner, Bellamy, Helmes (even though I don't know much about him)...
Aye what he said, surely no better than N'gog who through universal acceptance on these boards is ****e.
i Think worth a punt... cheap, lower wages , id have him with an option to buy 1-2 million. Why Not? I saw him play over here against the New England Revolution not to long ago, and was class! Scored 2 and believe he's a lefty. Now granted the standard over here is nowhere near the premiership and the only live game ive seen in years.
Just think he's worth a punt, only 20 and shown flashes of class!!! with BRUCE convinced Sess is our 2nd striker, i reckon he could do a job out left. Or cover during ACN How many thought Welbeck would turn out to be so important for us last year. There's no way he should start upfront in place of ji or wickham.
I think he has something about him and is worth a shot. Remember, we turned our noses up at the prospect of Welbeck coming to the SoL and look how that turned out
That to me is the problem, when Welbeck was brought in we had Gyan and Bent so a punt was fine. Right now we are ****ed so a punt is not fine. We need a top goal scorer, not easy and we may have to pay over the odds but its whats needed, punts are not. If we end the window with this being the deal my BiB badge will be on ebay, 99p with no reserve
I have to admit, you have a point there Syd I'm bidding on a BOB badge at the moment....... Current bid... A packet of Tuder crisps and a bottle of Syke's pop
Macheda - no better that Wickham and Dong, but we would have to play him ahead of them. Surely NOT!!!! And he is s h i t. Bart
Aye I can see defences up and down the country ****ting themselves when they see Macheda tearing at them......................... <Insert Sarcastic Face Here>
What is a LOAN deal ? to me its a punt. A safer one than buying. IMO ya cant get a 20 goal proven premier league striker on a loan. Which is what most seem to think is the answer. We cant compete on wages or transfer fees. Location is problem also , one that i never understand. Every team in the league seems to want a LB, LW and a proven CF. Those that have $$$$ ( sorry dont have a pound sign) will get them and those that dont i.e. us will have to take punts on young or unproven players. Some work out ala Elmo (btw still on the fence with him) some dont ala Benjani and muntari.
This. 1 ****ing goal in 14 game's for sampdoria, they brought him in to replace there star striker in january, ended up getting relegated. Let's not make the same ****ing mistake. I was promised we would scour the planet and break our transfer record to replace Darren Bent, I renewed my season ticket on this premise. If it does not happen I have a good mind to take the club to a small claim's court, I am not getting the service I was promised for my 400 odd quid.
Its already been said. Macheda is totally NOT what we are looking for. We have 2 novice players in Won and Wickham and they should play ahead of another Man Utd kid. What we need is the here and now striker, already to go and proven at the highest level. If Macheda came and got in front of Connor Wickham, I think the young lad would be devastated and look to engineer a move as soon as possible. It would make the signing of the 2 permanent signings redundant and meaningless if we then started to use Macheda, or a similar untried, young wannabe.
When he first came on the scene a couple of years back I honestly thought he was on his way to being a super star. However, I have heard very little about him since, so I conclude that he hasn't made the impact that I thought he would. For this reason, as has already been stated, this is not the time for a gamble, and an experienced head who knows where the net is should be our number one priority.
Even Gyan, our record buy is not a prolific goal scorer like Benty was before we flogged him. His overall record is around 1 in 4, going towards 1 in 3 every now and then when he's been at his very best. Only his record for Ghana is worth shouting about- a very credible 1 in 2, which to be fair is excellent. I like Gyan, but his record is no better than Kenwyne really and I don't know if he's as consistent and thats saying something! Still he wears the red and white and I pray he will come good this season, but if his record shows is that he needs a really good partner upfront to create space for him to bag a few goals. Sess is a really good, quick footed and clever footballer. But at the moment, with no end product. Again I hope this changes, but he's not a striker, right now, he's a quicker, younger Malbranque.
