That doesn't appear to be massive money, I am sure many EFL clubs could have offered that. He must really want to play in his own country.
We'll have offered him far more than that, but just for a year, presumably he was just keen to go home.
Just shows how inept Ehab is when we can't even compete with that! WE probably offered him our flat rate of 1k per week
I just checked and the average wage in the Swedish top flight is half what Larsson will be getting, so I went to check how many of the Sweden World Cup squad actually play in Sweden and unsurprisingly, none of them do (at least not until 4.00pm this afternoon).
Should have signed in September then if he wanted to stay. It will be the work of his agent same as Tymon
I think they've deliberately offered him a really poor deal, as they don't want to keep him, they just want to guarantee the compo.
That's why football is nuts. Larsson very experienced player, Swedish international going to earn under 4k back home where he wants to finish career vs unproven barring one championship season out of position young lad probably wanting more than 4k.
Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Definite mileage in the Eric Lichaj to #hcafc talk. Could well happen this week. All parties keen to make it happen. The transfer fee is the only obstacle.
Just heard from a realiable source that we're still in a stalemate with Max Clark regarding a new contract.
What's Enob offered? Probably a Mars bar, or has he pushed the boat out and thrown in a bag of crisps?
Cant see boy wonder wanting to pay much if anything so the only obstacle could be a massive one to climb.
He got a red card in January and he couldn't get his place back once he was available again, apparently Tendayi Darikwa was playing very well. According to the Nottingham Post, they're only looking for £400k, so you'd expect that even our clueless twats could get this one over the line.
Tbf in this one, it's obvious he just wants to go home and play there, no matter what we offered he would have gone home, the same with greggsy and daws.....its just the same as when barmby came back, he could have earned more elsewhere but just wanted to play for his home town club
Hull City @HullCity We can confirm Seb Larsson will join Swedish side AIK. We wish Seb well with his future career and thank him for his efforts in black and amber.
Nah. All talent gets picked up early. They go to Holland, England, Denmark, etc. We've got some proper talent in the Swedish league, but it's pretty rare that they get picked for the national team. If two players have some similar skills, they'll pick the one playing in a foreign league. This guy turned the Arsenal defence inside out (doesn't really prove anything I guess, but yeah) He's talented for sure. Didn't get picked tho, even if we lack some creativity up top
