Good morning all Another day of no news,if it is going to be Bielsa, whats the hold up?,I think some of you are right when you mention terms, someone like Bielsa it’s not about personal terms as it’s not the money he would be interested in,it’s all about reputation. Why should he come to Leeds if the backing is not their to get us to the premier league, this guy is shrewd,he will be well aware of our reputation for dismissals and would not just want to be another statistic.Look at our other managers,Who apart from Warnock have gone on to achieve anything at all, well I can’t think of any.If he comes here he would want full backing to succeed or what’s the point,so this to me would be very exciting as radz and the board will be fully committed this time,so if he does come fasten up your safety belts,Because the Leeds United Juggernaut will be moving out to the fast lane.
More wishful thinking on your part... Rad is more clueless than celllino and only better than gfh because he ain’t going bust. But at the current rate of ****eness we will be in big trouble in upcoming season.
I don’t blame top quality managers turning us down whilst they have no say over transfers it’s a joke. All the coaching skills in the world won’t make Ekuban a goal scorer or De Bock become a quality LB get any top guy in give him more De Bock and Sacko type players and he isn’t going to make us top 6
Article from March on Fox: Former Lille coach Bielsa ordered to pay club 300,000 euros LILLE, France: Former Lille coach Marcelo Bielsa has been ordered to pay 300,000 euros ($370,000) in damages to the French soccer team after a court rejected his claim that the northern club should go into financial administration. The court in Lille said there was no legal ground for Bielsa’s request. He can appeal the decision. The Argentine coach was fired for serious misconduct in December following a string of poor results. According to French media, Bielsa asked for nearly 18 million euros ($22 million) for damages and the remainder of his contract, which was due to expire in June 2019. After finishing 11th last season, Lille hired Bielsea with the lofty aim of qualifying for the Champions League. Lille also recruited more than a dozen players, but the team struggled badly. ”The financial difficulties invented by Mr. Bielsa, who had asked Lille to be put in a situation of cessation of payments, were totally baseless,” Lille lawyer Thomas Deschryver said. ”It’s a new victory for the club, which has always said it will provide the required guarantee to ensure it will continue to exist.” Bielsa returned to France two years after abruptly quitting Marseille amid a contract dispute. Having said he would sign a new contract, he walked out after only one game in August 2015. One year later, the hot-tempered coach quit Italian club Lazio two days after signing in July 2016. Given the above there're potentially a lot of players to recruit for our small budget. If he's earning a lot doing eduction seminars and we don't have the funds for transfers - why would you want to take the Leeds job? Agree with Guessa's post. With Bielsa claims for compo above and his recent trend of quitting, there is likely to be a financial nervousness from us if things don't work out and from him, a requirement to cover his contract. Securing him is a serious gamble. We have gambled with lower budget approaches and failed. Do we lump on this gamble, as the rewards of premier league football are massive?
Yeah, I'm torn between a 'what if - just might be the start of something special' vs. this is Leeds, recent history of management fails, small budgets. We need a manager poll - Elland - to see what everyone thinks.
Well i see the pitchfork brigade are on the march, well why not play it safe let's hire big Mick,we might not then be in the fast lane in our juggernaut, but more like pulled over on the hard shoulder, playing boring football, but hey at least we will be taking some comfort in the fact that we will never be relegated and we could always look forward to our safe mid table position,so C'MON EVERYONE if radz thinks this guy is worth a punt (which would cost him dearly) if it doesn't work out, then maybe so should we
I think that MM is not up for it Bruce would bust us as he has Villa with his squad he should have walked this league instead he failed and now the club is crippled with debt ';'How do you offload McContract when you bought him for 13m and pay him 40K a week plus a million bonus if you get promoted and he never plays Lansbury and Adomah have to be sold along with Grealish so you are left with half a team and no budget well done Bruce no not for me Its a gamble who you get but at least we know the form of most of them
There is only one reason I’d want him... it would mean we have a serious budget and the board would have to work closely with him in bringing in players he wanted. If not the right budget some seriously good loans. I don’t expect a budget of the likes of Villa last season but enough to bring in some quality. I’d also expect Abel Hernandez to sign if we had the right coach and that excites me more. However, I’d much prefer a Bruce, Pearson, Pullis, Ranieri type of coach if they were given a pledge that all transfer targets would be passed by them first, they would be in contact with Orta and they’d get the final say without question. Any of those guys with a £10m Budget and a say on who comes in... I’ve no doubt we’d be challenging more than we would under Bielsa. Get Hernandez in and he will bang us in 25+ goals, he’d create a lot more problems for the opposition too.
I don't think for one moment the owner would entertain him after all its him who has caused this melt down
Just catching up as not been on as nothing has happened. Going to nail my colours to the mast and be ready to be shot down. I'm no happy clappy but I think Bielsa is a done deal, we're not really linked by serious journalists with anyone else, the Steve Bruce thing is crap and only brought up because they all think he will jump ship now that villa are in serious financial trouble, will have a fire sale of players and he will actually have to coach their youngsters. I also think that Abel Hernandez is done and signed, he's not linked with anyone at all at the moment and surely would have signed for another club by now if so. Probably gone on holiday and will be unveiled when the time is right. Guess work on my part but just my reading of the situation.
