Footballers to get two-week mid-season break in England & Wales.

There is to be a new, two-week break during the Premier League season, beginning in 2019-20 campaign, bosses have announced.

In a statement on its website, the Premier League said it, the Football Association and EFL had reached agreement on the issue.

The break will be staggered with five Premier League matches one weekend during that period and five the next.

To make the plan work, the FA has agreed to play FA Cup fifth-round matches midweek.

not sure if it'll help the national team to be honest. if someone being paid £40000+ a week cant run around more than once a week for 90 minutes, i dont think exhaustion is their problem.

Just enough time for the "Big 6" to fly around the world and play promotional matches for mega:emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash:
I know the big Clubs have said they won't do that. But they will anyway.

By the way, I'm not sure what claim Liverpool and Spurs have for being in the "Big 6" Club.
Liverpool have won the Champion's League relatively recently (13 years ago) so that's a start I guess.
    But Spurs?
Last won the First Division in 1961.
Last won the FA Cup in 1991.
