Mbemba - better, but unhappy. Skrtel - happy to be 4th choice, stack of experience. Not the end of the world. Even then, starting with "claims from Turkey.." has even less credibility than Windy starting a post with "my sources have said.."
This for me - if it does happen, at least he should add some experience into a fairly young squad for not a lot of outlay
33yr old but I don't mind if its just a 4th choice cover option. Lejeune and Lascelles are not going to be dislodged.
I never mention the king any more. Just glad I had the pleasure of seeing him live. Anyway, flog Lascelles for £30m, sign Skrtel for peanuts. Sounds great
I'm not keen on this. He was found to be a big reason behind many of Liverpool's defensive howlers. Time is a thief!
Anyone else starting to get worried by these linked transfers? I mean Rondon and Skrtel? Might as well pack it in for the year and get ready for the Championship with this dross coming in. Sell Mbemba, Mitro and Merino for these wasters? Would you?
Merinodine Zidane - no way!! Rondon could do a job but he isn't what any of us would be looking for and is almost certainly a step backwards from Mitrovic. Mbemba has quality but doesn't play for whatever reason so replacing him is an irrelevance.
You have experienced a transfer window before? Not worried at all by the names mentioned. In fact, I'm paying no attention to rumours whatsoever, as per every transfer window.
These could be just really lazy links. Say we do sign him to replace Mbemba - could this not just be Rafas way of manipulating the squad to get the funds he needs to improve. If he sells Mbemba for say 8m, Mitro for 20m, 28m into the pot to get that all important striker would be acceptable. Mbemba barely kicked a ball last year. I like him, I rate him. Rafa doesn’t so in all honesty he isn’t that big a loss. Same for Mitro, like him rate him, Rafa doesn’t. We either back the managers judgement or we get someone in who wants to use those two but have to work to a tight budget. A good manager will know what he wants and wheel and deal to get the best he can of those types. That is how I’d see a transfer like this, a necessary downgrade for a bigger upgrade.
Just feel it is weakening the squad in the short term with no guarantees Rafa will be here long term/Cashley will reinvest these funds. I'd be happy if Clark was being offered out as he's old and limited and not as versatile. Same again, Gayle and Joselu should be out the door first and foremost. granted these lads wont bring in the same in funds but I think for all three of them you'd be looking at somehwere between £15-20m. Then you look to the loan and free transfer market e.g. Abel Hernandez or potentially Dost if he buy's his contract out. I'd bet the three aforementioned players are on bigger wages than Mitro and Mbemba as well.
