Here's something I don't get about the reports that Man Utd think that Toby isn't worth more than 55m. If he's worth 25m to us next year, with one year left on his contract (which would be a bargain), why wouldn't he be worth at the very, very least 50m with two years on his contract? Oh - and that extra year he'll be a year younger, so it's surely worth more. And we don't want to sell him. So surely the barest minimal conceivable (not really) fee is 50m. For 50m we may as well get a season out of him for a 25m loss and then (reluctantly) let him go and his next club spend 25m for an extra season of him. Everyone seems to know that getting to pay 25m for a year's extra Toby is way cheap at 25m so why is 2 years at 50m not also an outrageous bargain? I'm sure Levy must be pointing this out when/if Man Utd come up with a figure close to 50m.
Levy wants as much as possible if Man Utd desire him (in addition to no doubt wanting to induce "hip surgery" part 2) . He is also aware that with the WC imminent, Toby could have a stormer and then a real potential bidding war could occur. If not, he is still a Spurs player. This is not Fergie era Man Utd in terms of unsettling power. Even Jose stated that in the 2016-17 season.
If van Dickhead is worth 75M and John Stoned is worth 50M, Toby is worth 150M minimum. If Levy has any sense he will open the bidding there.

The Standard's reporting that Harry Kane is on the verge of signing a new six-year deal worth £200k p/w. Meanwhile, the oh-so-reliable source of all things Turkish Super Lig TurkishFootballDotCom are reporting that Fenerbahce's new sporting director Damien Comolli is considering a bid for Samuel Shashoua, to which there is only one logical response... please log in to view this image

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ****ING YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
My mates are texting me saying the deal is worth £90m, which when broken down, works to around just under £290k a week. Now, what was that about wage structure?
****ing love it. Heeeeeee's one of our owwwwwwwn, Haaaaa-rrrrrrrrry Kane, Heeeeeee's one of our owwwwwwwn.
Yeah I've just been reading a few bits and pieces online since the texts. Many say the deal is worth "up to" £90m so would likely suggest circa £200m with - as you say - a ****ton of bonuses.
