If that's so then the whole lot will have gone. Hammond's, Thornton Varley, Bladons, Co-op C&A, Edwin Davis's, Carmichael's the only one left Marks & Sparks, if that goes Whitefriargate is doomed more so than it is now.

Apparently it was announced on the morning news before people could get into work to be told their branch was closing. Bit ****house that.
Looks like Craven Park are taking advantage of the demise of Walton Street market... please log in to view this image
House of Fraser is no great loss, the building looks like a prison, terrible dingey lighting, cluttered window displays, arrogant pushy staff, no wonder no-ones enticed to go in. It's been left in the rear view mirror. Hopefully that monstrosity of a building is now razed to the ground.
It's a sad day. House of Fraser was quite premium. Hull is now left in the doldrums with Primani and Debenhams (Which I've never really liked).
It was one of the only premium stores in Hull, we'll soon be left with nothing but the likes of Primark, Sports Direct and Poundland.
Have to agree, I walked through it a few months ago for the first time in 20 years, and was shocked how run down it looked and felt. It seems the day of the large department store is waning, apart from in the very big city's they just don't seem to be sustainable.
Even Poundland are ****ed now... BBC Radio Humberside @RadioHumberside BREAKING: Poundworld is poised to announce its intention to appoint administrators, putting around 5,300 jobs at risk, the Press Association understands.
We had this same OTT hysteria when BHS shut, but that's turned out to be a positive thing now that area is going to be redeveloped. We might see several popular brands that HOF stocked open up shops elsewhere in the city centre now.
There's no chance that anything will be developed in the foreseeable future on the Albion Street site, it's pie in the sky, the city centre currently a disaster, any developer's going to take one look and run a mile.
