Who is the most important to the club. Just seen another article about Short getting frustrated by Brucie and if he sacks him that could force Quinn to walk. What do we need most? Shorts money, Quinn's knowledge and legendary status or Brucie as the manager? For me its Short for the fact that he has the money to bankroll the club
Quinn because he is Sunderland Short because he is rich Both very, very hard to replace Managers, ten a penny, lots saying leave Bruce alone but not seen any of the out of works saying it
Depends what you mean by bank roll of course. Short isn't spending his own money on transfers. Last two seasons Bruce has only spent the money he received from outgoing transfers. Initially Short bought the club and invested a further sum to take the debt off the balance sheet. He turned that sum/debt into further shares within the club, so he will get that money back when he eventually sells and moves on.. We are hopefully living within our means now, so doesn't really matter who the owner is I would have thought.....
All are important but lets be honest Not may people have the money short has so we need him Quinn loves the club he has always put the club first so we need him on board & like Syd said managers a ten a penny. I think if SB does get sacked by Short, Quinn will still be at the club. At the end of the day SB is spending Shorts money so if he is not happy with what he sees he will decide who stays and who goes.
At this moment in time it has to be Short. With no Short we would go down the Boro, Coventry etc etc route. As much as I like Quinn he is a figure head, albeit a good one. We NEED Short's cash and business sense, without it...we are stuffed.
Quinn. 100% in my eyes. He knows our club and loves the club and he loves the city. He is Sunderland and he has the passion that we all share. We're an attractive Premier League proposition and we'd get picked up by other owners, but we may never get a fan in control of the club again. It's what separates us from other teams.
Please lets show some loyalty..Quinn has been the best servent of this club since the pre war days( second world war to those under 30)while no one is immune for making mistakes but he has shed blood sweat and tears for this club( i know he has been well payed) he deserves respect and loyalty for his endeavers and i for have no time for anybody who wishes his removal from SAFC,,i feel some of us are starting to be infected by skunk blood........"nurse.......send for the exterminator"
Why do you always have to post offensive remarks towards your fellow SAFC fans? I suspect that you are the one that is infected with "skunk blood" because you always post in the tone of a mag.
I have to say, when I watched that interview with ES ages ago. I was amazed at just how passionate he sounded about our great club.
To answer the OP's question, Niall Quinn. Drumaville took the cash and ran. Ellis Short will eventually do exactly the same thing, leaving Niall to find us another backer. As Syd says, he is "Mr Sunderland" and the most important member of our club. As for Steve Bruce? I've said it all before, so on this occasion I'm pleading the 5th amendment....
I have to agree mate. I apologised to him the other day because I thought he was a skunk and told him to go back to his board. Just didn't expect such bile coming out of a Mackem to a Mackem.
I suppose.... To my mind Short is v important. He doesn't seem to be throwing the cash about but is running a tight ship. Quinn is essential - loves the club and knows a lot about recent football. Bruce is the weak link. Honestly. Why was he ever seen as the manager to lead us to the next level? Where is his pedigree? x
