    Good idea?

Intermediate disciplinary measure used twice by official in charge of Padania v Tuvalu at tournament for non-FIFA affiliated international teams

The tournament for non-FIFA affiliated international teams, being held at non-league grounds across the capital, has introduced the card as an intermediate disciplinary measure in an attempt to clamp down on dissent and diving.

CONIFA rules state that "a player who receives a green card must leave the field of play immediately, but can be replaced if his team have not used all of their substitutes. A player receiving a green card is not excluded from his team's next match."

Thursday's first round of group games failed to produce a green card, but Raymond Mashamba, the official taking charge of the Group C clash between Padania and Tuvalu at Haringey's Coles Park, showed it twice in a matter of minutes in the second half, first to a Tuvalu midfielder and then to Padania's Stefano Baldan.

By that stage, Padania - representing a region of northern Italy - were already seven goals to the good against their opponents from Oceania, who had already used all their substitutes and were therefore unable to make a replacement.

It would more or less make the red card extinct, refs will always take the easier option.

So like 2 yellows then a red...I think it just gives players an extra bad challenge for free.

Except if the Green Card is quicker to be used, it could be the right thing. If a mid table team play us (say Arsenal for example) and get a player sent off in the 89th minute, then the punishment barely helps us. Say they then play Man City next, then it's a double whammy - we get no benefit from the foul inflicted on us and then a rival meets a weakened team.

Rather bring in a sin bin like Rugby than a green card.

This post should be an example to everyone of how you handle differing views on a forum and keep the conversation flowing. <laugh>

Needs something to deter the players from cheating.

The game needs ****ing with though, there are so many flaws in it that common sense could sort out.

But I don't think sin bins or green cards (ffs) is the way to go, just needs harsher punishments imo. Anyway aren't they hoping var -which is bollocks too btw - will stop cheating?

Make too many changes and we lose the game we love.

Tell me what this game is that you love?

I bet it won't have any of the bits that need eradicating in it.
