Ive backed Hawkbill, hoping for a very easy lead, he proved me wrong about the 1m4 in Dubai and hes made for these small field soft ground races. I didnt think Cracksman enjoyed the track last year so thats why im taking the chance. They say hes a cert but they also say nothings a cert so well see.
Looked in trouble most of the way, lucky the only danger never fired and it was a G3 horse he had to catch.
Much as I love the horse, that has made me less confident of the Arc, albeit a different type of track.
These Godolphin horses are running very badly, Wild Illusion looks an obvious winner but gut has been trying to put me off it for days now.
I just dunno what to think about this hoss Cracksman. I am no race reader but (1) he does NOT act on the Epsom track, but nothing strange about that, and (2) was that the flat spot to end all flat spots? Thought the German colt Windstoss was going to get to both of them for a second - a useful sort but only when the mud is flying.
Ran well enough in the Guineas. Won't mind the ground at all today, will be ridden prominently from that draw, which could be crucial. A fair price at around 2.45 on BF.
Real dedication from me today by the way - left work early, picked up a crate of beer and back home now with the ITV live feed. Hard work being a racing fan (I should add it is 31°C in lovely Berlin right now)
Incidentally, Amanda really likes the look of No 9 as they went down. Just thought I would mention it
WTF could have never picked that on looks. Verdict on PC; the rider is a ****ing joke. Fated from the start. Will be interesting to see what the jockey/trainer has to say
