    Am I A £35m Striker?
I scored 24 goals helping my side win promotion back to the Premier League aged just 22.
In my first season in the top flight I had 15 goals by the end of Jan. Including a goal against the reigning champions, away at Arsenal and in a home win vs Liverpool. My form earned me an England call-up and debut in a friendly....

No I am Michael Ricketts, February 2002.

Sound similar to a certain ex-newcastle 'star'?

Ricketts was released by Tranmere Rovers last January after failing to re-find his form at various clubs, Carroll moved for £35m this January. Doesn't quite add up.

Oh and just to add to the similarities, Ricketts recently pleaded guilty to common assault after punching and head-butting his ex-girlfriend.

haha, interesting. carroll's career will definitely be one to watch, not least because of his potential for implosion. i wonder if newcaslte fans will still be so upset in five years time, or will they in fact be looking back on this as one of the best bits of business ever done??
