Morning Hamase, I think everyone has lost faith in Heckingbottom. Up and coming Manager maybe, but relegation form.
A year too late, pretty obvious he was only going to play a minor role in the premiership. As long as Bartley is fit & ready to start the season he is just the leader we need in our team
8 goals in 34 appearances in League One is not great for a striker Beckford scored 85 goals in 152 games with Becchio scoring 36 in 103 appearances in our League One campaign
Was sad to see Jonny leave Leeds. Not that fussed about Snoddy, young Pearce had him in his pocket at Villa Park Howson for me !
Monk destroyed Antonnson and then Tommy gave him a brilliant opportunity in pre season playing him in just about every game. Marcus to give him his due got on the end of everything and got himself in all the right places to score. However he failed to hit the net countless times every time he played. Tommy sent him out on loan and then Marcus showed what he could do and was top scoring for a free scoring Blackburn but then got injured and was out for ages. Although he is down as 34 games he was a sub for most of those after his injury and didnt score again. So truth is he needs to leave Leeds now and good luck to him
I find myself being a bit nervous about Bartley's return (if it happens). Firstly, it's his injuries that worry me. Hope he's on a pay as you play if there's no 100% guarantee that he's now up to scratch. Next, I worry about his performances. I've mentioned before that I thought he looked good for us mainly because he was the last man in a multi-layered Monk defence. Most people in that position could look good. But did it translate into PL appearances? No. So do we really need to sign a player who may be exposed by a different team set-up; plagued by injuries; or simply not good enough to shine in the PL if we get promoted (if we are indeed trying to build for the future, that is). For £1m & team-average wages? Perhaps worth a punt. For a reputed £4m & £28k wages? Absolutely no chance. I'm concerned that this may be another example of Radz pandering to the multitude, rather than making a good football decision. I also worry that if we sign him it'll spark another round of unhealthy & unrealistic expectation. A huge chunk of our fans will expect autos based on the old CB partnership being restored. Seriously, you know it's true. And all before a ball is kicked, too! Hope they're right, but don't see it.
There are 3 or 4 better options than Bartley for all the reasons WJ mentioned. If he comes, great, I just hope it works Huth Wes Morgan Ashley Williams Terry All Prem players all capable of being skipper all well respected and all would show a commitment from the club
So four million gets you 250 cant see the problem with that.if rads had spent last season club would be raking it in the prem.
I'd prefer that list to Bartley, as they would be an obvious 1, perhaps 2 year signing. Bartley will cost us a lot, & end up on a highly paid 4 year deal, no doubt. Fine if great, but if injured or not performing as expected .... I still believe that we should pause for a year & develop some of this u23 talent we have. Especially at CB. There's 5 or 6 CBs climbing over each other to get into the team. And that's just the CBs! Then again, we could just ignore them, chuck them out, & watch them have fulfilling careers elsewhere. Can't beat tradition, eh?
Connor Goldsmith ticks some boxes and is only 25 we tried to get him when he was at Shrewsbury but the !M fee was too much John Terry at 80k a week not worth it so forget him and at 39 too old Huth ticks a lot of boxes and is very strong I agree with WJ Bartley is too risky with injuries
