He will do well to recover his career from this point imo, that will be a cloud over him for a long time. I wish him well and hope he manages to move on in his career, but hopefully so do we and look for a new keeper
Still don't understand the fornicating over Bale...he scored two goals but did nothing else at all, can hardly even remember him touching the ball. The first goal was a blind pot shot which goes in 1 in 1000 times, hardly 'world class', and the second was another tame pot shot from 40yards which any keeper should comfortably stop. There was a comment early about his trophy/medal collection, laughing at the idea that we wouldn't want him. Supposed we should bring back Djimi Traore, he's got a CL medal so obviously top drawer player, lets bring back Mario too, he's got a fair few medals from his Inter days. Daft. Bale's alright, but he's a greedy cock who plays for himself - exactly the opposite of what our team is based on.
I didn't care about the possession. The point is there was only one bottler from our side on the pitch and that was Karius. The rest put in a shift, Lovren did well. The only other disappointment was Firmino. Mane attacked. We weren't overawed. Madrid weren't all that, even with the possession. Ronaldo was crap. Yes, they set about Salah like nobody's business. They had a job to do and they did it, and went far too far. Had Mourinho's lot been in our situation last night he would have had Ramos' head on a pole. We lost in the most sickening way possible. Had it been a 5-0 bashing it would have been horrible but then I would have said yes, we lost to the better side. We didn't. We lost to a side whose first task was to take out Salah. They knew the impact that would have, but we went at them second half. Bale's overhead was a fluke. The rest, thank Karius.
Remember the goal against Arsenal in a European final, think Seaman was in goal when the opposition scored by hoofing the ball from there on half with minutes to go. There again it might have been a dream.
All he did was score two goals I understand the point you're making mate but that contribution was quite important.
2 goals doesn't make it a good performance though and that's my point. It's like how Garth always picks goalscorers in his team of the week, even if they played ****e.
I feel that in order to move on with his career it can't be with us. The fans will never full trust him again and can't see the majority of the squad having complete faith in him again. The problems for the club: 1) Do you stick by a keeper who has shown he will make mistakes in critical games (he'll always have that hanging over him) 2) Bring back a keeper that's almost been told he's surplus to requirements and was always seen as a bit iffy before being dropped. 3) Dump Karius to the bench, basically destroying his future. 4) Sell both and start a fresh for next year with two different keepers (Ward on the bench?)
His future shouldn't be of concern when making a decision about our keeper. Is Karius or Migs good enough to stay in goal? If not, buy someone that is good enough. #simple
At least Don Balon will have to stop writing articles about Salah joining Real Madrid. No chance. However they'll just link him with Barca instead
so salah confirms he will go to world cup half fit. sell him now for 200 mil. he will be a crock next season.
This project is far ahead of schedule. I don’t see clubs having legit reasons for optimism after such a crushing final defeat too often. LFC is still ascending.
As frustrated as we get sometimes and say "this or that weakness is obvious why isn't it sorted?" Klopp 1) is more realistic and 2) genuinely wants to coach players so gives them chances beyond what us fans might give a player I see neither as a weakness over all. So won't be surprised if just 2 or 3 players come in and we edge just a little closer than this year in the league...make an FA cup final rather than the CL etc. Of course we might go beyond expectations once again like this year. ... but I'll happily take the steady progression over all. Optimistic.
Sickening? Much like Carragher did to Ronaldo all those years ago? Game plan adopted by every team in the world including yourselves. Stop the opposition best player at all costs. Not sure why it’s sickening.
