He had to put on a show to impress Poch, mate. He done well to be fair. He's earned his move to the side that played his current team off the park.
There's a reason Ramos is (arguably) the best CB in the world. Did he deliberately mean to dislocate/ injure Salah's shoulder? Probably not, but did he likely have the intention to do his best to take Salah out of the game? You can bet your whole bank account on it he did. Love him or hate him, Sergio Ramos is a born and bred winner.
Its an odd one this, on twitter the print journalists are almost in complete agreement that Ramos challenge on Salah was premeditated and intended to hurt him, the ex professionals all say it was a football incident and that there was no intention to cause injury. Personally I think there's a bit of both Ramos is clearly a very clever player and whilst I don't think he intended to seriously injure Salah it was one of those challenges intended to warn him that he was in for more of that throughout the the evening and that Ramos would be dishing it out.
Journo's say whatever creates clicks, you should know that. Never intended as a harmful thing (imo) but Ramos was out to let Salah know he was there. In fairness Salah linked arms first.
Yep, completely agree, it's what Ramos does. He wouldn't have had in his mind pre-game "I'm gonna injure Salah's shoulder" but he most certainly would've been going into the game with every intention of taking Salah out at any given opportunity. Some will say that's cheating or being dirty but ultimately it's just smart. It's why Ramos has so many red cards to his name but also why he has so many winners medals. As I said before, he's a born and bred winner. I'd love someone like him at Spurs. He puts the team's glory over any personal achievement.
Yes? Do you know martial arts? Or even the kind of basic unarmed combat that the army would teach you?
But that would have been a straight red. I mean, if he really seriously wanted to injure Salah from that position there is very little Salah could do about it. But that sort of thing doesn't happen on a football field right?
Here i am trying to “RCL” a bale transfer to spurs, whilst happy clapper @Dier Hard is trying his best to ruin our chances. When will you ever learn you mo fo?!
Maybe. But here’s what he had to say after the game. In victory Bale said he was “obviously very disappointed not to start the game, so the best I could do was come on and make an impact – and that’s what I did. It has to be the best goal I’ve ever scored. Just happy to get the win. We know what we’ve achieved and how good we’ve been. We let everyone else speak, we know how hungry and determined we are and we showed it again today.” Asked about a return to the Premier League, he said: “I need to be playing week-in, week-out and that hasn’t happened this season for one reason or another. I have to sit down in the summer and discuss my future with my agent and take it from there.”
Ronaldo also made some odd comments. He said “it’s been great playing for Real Madrid”. Then said something about how the fans have been by his side and he’ll let them know about his future. If he’s off (back to United?!) I doubt bale would go there too. In fact I expect Bale would stay knowing he’s got more chance of getting the game time he wants, whilst retaining his salary.
Didn't see all the post match coverage, but didn't see Bale and Zidane embracing at the final whistle and he certainly didn't sprint 50 yards into his managers arms!!
