Actually , I think it is an M16. Even his explanation doesn't wash. If you vow never to touch a gun , why have a tattoo of one? Where and what is the message and what will kids looking at the tattoo understand ?
Just sets himself up for greater ridicule when he does his usual England contribution of negative (I would say zero but actually he's taking the place of someone that might contribute, hence it's overall negative). Claims it's to commemorate his father. Another way to do that might be a message such as "RIP Dad miss you" or words to that effect. General lack of modern investigative journalism though - the obvious thing for he news to report after this claim would be how his father died and how long ago it was. If it was a very long time ago and not by an M-16 (I think that's the tattoo not an AK) then we should know. EDIT a simple google search reveals that Sterling came to this country when he was 5 and his father stayed in Jamaica. His father was murdered when he was 9. It doesn't say how his father was killed, but I would suggest that this information may detract from the "in the memory of my father" claim. Why the hell don't the news bother following up anything!!!!
