I think you get 5 teams from the PL in the champions league if that finished.

The only exception would be if the europa league champions and the cl winners were both from the epl and both outside the top 4, then 4th spot would lose it

PJ is backing his assertion that the next manager will do better than big sam by points. He's willing to put his money where his mouth is.

Astro said something and isn't taking the bet and he's not backing it, then he's not putting money where his mouth is. To be fair to astro, he's using evertons finishing position as the barometer, he is backing his statement and prepared to back his prediction.

 

I don't blame astro for not taking it tbh. I'd like to see PJS come out with a statement like astro does rather than following astro round waiting for a statement he [PJS] feels confident going against and asking for a bet.

I'm challenging him to say e.g. Everton will finish higher than Liverpool [plenty of EFC fans said it last summer and would have put that bet to astro]. Take a risk with his own prediction.

Both you and astro have had the guts to place risky bets and honoured them - astro doesn't need to show he's willing to take a risk. He also doesn't have to take up every bet.

i'm not saying astro should take the bets (how much he believes in what he writes and how much is wumming who knows ) but one way of knowing if someone is wumming or not is whether they would take their own bet up.

As it is, i think astro can get away with this one big sam did indeed finish 8th and pj knows theres a big possibility that everton won't finish above 8th

The rules are:

1. top 4 qualify
2. IF CL winners are form country and outside top 4 they get extra slot (5)
3. If Europa league winners are from country and outside top 4 they get a slot for europa (separate)
4. IF BOTH CL and europa winners are from same country AND BOTH finish outside top 4 then 4th place must sloe a slot

The rule is simple. maximum 5 from any one country.

There is no possibility in any rule for a 5th place team who wins the fa cup and not a european trophy to somehow magically get in to CL.

IMO if everton don't finish 7th theres something badly wrong with them. you cannot say right now that after the summer that leicester or burnely or any other team even newcastle (who hammered cheslea ahem) will be better than everton are.

Everton need a few players but who doesn't. they still got 8th and gave up on 7th tbh so i see no reason why they should not be up there.

I wouldn't. Their defence is still crap and going to be another year older, they don't have any creativity bar Sigi and they lack some serious pace in their side. They are currently managerless so i could easily see someone like the spammers (who look to be spending big) or leicester beating them to 7th spot.

Theres a lot of clubs that could beat them to that spot.
