So the #bottler who #bottledit and doesn't even captain his side rather than the guy who's captained his side to a CL final England is ****
To be fair, his only competition at lb in the Prem was Robbo. Can’t think of any other standout Lb this season... Young is prob the next closest
Said on the Spors board that if its by talent then Kane is probably 1st and Henderson towards the other end of the rankings. However Henderson is a very good and very experienced captain and someone who can put his arm around players. Ultimately it doesn't matter as its just captaining failure. On a side note Kane is a bit gormless and difficult to understand, not great for communication.
Horrenderson would have got it, but I he Nivea adds did for him in the end. No real stand out leaders through the squad, so whoever got it was the best of a bad bunch.
Look the main issue i see is kane will be taking all frees and corners as well. He will be thinking he's gods gift. I really couldn't give a crap who is capatin of england as its largely meaningless but the job requires press work and I think you can keep that thanks. If england had even a sliver of hope of getting past QF i'd say ok i want it if i were henderson but one has to remember the tabloids will be looking for yet another person to blame for it. I'd not the be face of the team if i were henderson cos he's ideal scape goat.
Although I don't think he's anything special, I'd have stuck with Henderson. He's solid, nothing more, nothing less. What he does have though, is years of captain experience and has captained his team to the CL final which is far more than Kane has every done. He's also in the centre of the pitch which I think is important as a leader, he sees and dictates (well, tries to <laugh) all the play. Kane will be stood up top demanding the ball to be played to feet. Never mind, we've got no chance anyway. Might as well give the mascot the armband for what good it'll do

and so it begins https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44208841 england can win it and nothing else is good enough according to serial bottler harry kane. my god have they learned nothing from history. the quotes are actually out of context compared to the body of what he said. "It's impossible not to dream about lifting the World Cup. It's the biggest competition in the world," said Kane. "I believe we can win it - anyone can. I cannot sit here and say we are not going to win it because we could do. "It is my mindset and I want to win at everything I do. The players in the team want to as well. It is worth fighting for. I am sure we have all had dreams of lifting it and it is an opportunity for us. "We are not favourites but you look at this season, no-one would have thought Liverpool getting to the Champions League final. You look at Manchester United back in the Sir Alex Ferguson days, they had a young team and dominated the Premier League for years to come. "Being young is not an excuse - it could be a good thing. I believe we can and that is what we want to try and do. Anything else is not good enough." headline: New England captain Harry Kane says the team can win the World Cup in Russia and "anything else is not good enough". Talk about a fit up job. thats absolute shocking press hackery and its so blatent
