if i'd been refereeing, he'd have been sent off for that appalling acting, the cheat.

Shouldn't this be titled 'Historic' diving? 16 years ago, we're over it now.

I think refs should just give up giving pens on the basis that they do not have a clue about whether there is cheating or not unless it is really obvious (like Sat). Loads of missed fouls but we may get to the point where players have to be more 'honest'

Anyone remember Steve McClaren, who wasn't averse to the odd theatrical dive, going round the keeper and faced with an empty net theatrically throwing himself to the ground to win a penalty?

I read member Stuart Elliott diving in the area when one on one with the keeper. I was baffled, someone with his finishing ability and being a man of God. He even admitted to it. Not as bad as the Rivaldo play acting. Does anyone remember another Brazilian acting like he'd been shot when a toilet roll hit him from out the crowd?

I remember Steve Bruce blowing a fuse about Gary Cahill diving against us. Can never imagine Brucey taking a dive during his playing days, can't remember if Marco Silva had a playing career but I bet he had some of the sneaky theatrics going on if he did.

Was actually the lino 'diving' in the Celtic game that made me think of the Brazilian cheat.

Looks like it's falling down season in Scotland - 7 seconds and 20 seconds, but not 27 seconds
