Just a thought, have seen some other forums putting up loads of new T&Cs in light of new data protection regs coming into force 25/05. Does anyone know if this is in hand here or if it will be no more next week?

If so, cheers lads, appreciate all the effort and chat from you, it's been great and sorry I couldn't contribute more! <cheers>

What kind of Ts and Cs are we talking about that would mean the site would likely get shut down?

Dunno mate, not that switched on with it all but have seen lots of emails and forced agreement to T&Cs on another forum, before being able to proceed. Just thought I'd ask as i've seen others saying things don't get updated quickly here, although I've had no bother myself.

Am I being a fanny? :embarrassed:

I thought it was more about advertising and companies that hold personal data on you.

I'm getting these emails asking me to opt in to continue receiving their emails.

I think it's firms who have you on mailing lists and you have to give them permission to continue contacting you and how they contact you i.e. by post or email or telephone. But no doubt some of our more savvy IT members will be able to clarify it.

Doesn't strike me as much to worry about mate. I think we'll all be on here next season enjoying the trials and tribulations.

I think you'll still be stuck with us next season mate. I dont think it includes places like this.

I'm pretty certain we'd have received an e-mail from not606 by now.

Its never been mentioned on the PL forum and brb, one of the staff members is on there all the time.

They only need permission to send you promotional and marketing information.

Not that kind of site at all.

Does this mean ALL those SPAM sites that send Dating/Sex/Viagra and other Sh*te emails have to ask if you want to stay on their mailing list.........

No you're not fanny - and we don't like cockney's either......

    I'll get me coat

I'm pretty sure, as this is an anonymised forum and only the supers have the power to find out who you "really are" (and even in that case I am pretty sure a number of people don't giver eal details anyhow) that the gdpr rules won't apply

I've got my business partner all over this as it goes live on Friday. It's just about more transparency from companies about what they do with our data that they hold. I can't remember if we signed T&C's with this site when we joined up, but that should probably be updated to let us all know that they won't be passing on our email addresses and what they do with the data that they hold about us.
