Don't see anyone fawning on here. As I say....each to their own. Imo a mixed race American marrying the Queen's grandson and future King's Son is a huge moment in the evolution of the royal family.
Nope, think it goes down the line of William's kids first. Do you really hope William dies before his father?
And a great spectacle, excellent for this country's stature and apparently worth 1 billion sterling to the UK economy
I'm rather bemused by those who think it's a bit edgy and progressive to not give a **** about the wedding. With so much crap going on in the world, why not let people enjoy an event that is harmless and nice? We had a lovely day in our household, it was my eldest daughter's 16th birthday. She received a card from QPR and was mentioned in a Tweet from the club. A bit of royal wedding with family and friends in the glorious sunshine and then the cup final ( not so good. ) I always find it a bit odd that when an event such as today's procession walks over the burial site of King Henry VIII in St George's chapel. I think his burial place was meant to be a temporary site and an extravagant tomb was meant to be erected but didn't materialise for whatever reason. I must look into it when I get the chance. Henry VIII's resting place always fascinates me for some reason whenever I go to visit Windsor Castle. please log in to view this image
I didn't watch a lot of the wedding and don't greatly care about watching that kind of thing. I will say that it does seem like Charlie's two are removing the blue blooded image from the royal family. Harry's grown up from his hedonistic early days and they (Wills and Harry) seem more closely aligned to normal people (as far as you can with security protection and millions in the bank). Just glad they didn't choose next weekend when me and my Debbie are tying the knot in an equally extravagant, Hello magazine endorsed registry do.
All the best Matt, congratulations. I hope you and Debbie have a fantastic day. The outlook is good for next weekend.
Have a blast - sure we could rustle up some sort of samba creole shindig band for your big day if you're desperate (but I'm sure your plans are far more organised than that) - all the best for the future
Best wishes for your forthcoming nuptials, Matt. I’m looking forward to all the build up and coverage on the day. Have you got Huw Edwards?
Best of luck to you both, Matt, on the day and for the future. Yesterday was just a harbinger for the real thing!
