I do not think that Lightning Spear was ever winning the Lockinge: the camera angel made it look like the nearside led. That idiot on the TV thinking it had got up should have offered me a bet – I would already have written Rhododendron up as the winner on the board long before the photo finish result was called. The fact is that it looked a mediocre line-up beforehand and Lightning Spear is a reliable second tier yardstick, who just confirmed it. The rubbish being peddled by the commentators about Addeybb not getting enough cover just demonstrates their blindness. Looking at the head-on replay, Doyle made no attempt to get cover. In Hills, they were offering 4/7 about Addeybb finishing in the first four and I said to one of the other punters that it was the mug bet of the year (so far) – the horse had never won on anything faster than good before and it still has not. Will Harry be a prince and go and tell Henry that Limato is not a miler and stop wasting the owner’s money?
Can't say I'm a fan of watching either Chelsea or Utd this season and most pundits are going for a boring low scoring in draw in this one.Mourinho has a great record in one off big games so I'm going with Utd to win -1 5/1.
Usual wealth warning: information received from a mate of mine but I know the originating source near Malton. Newmarket 5:35 – MOVE IN TIME. I cannot say that I had even looked at the race until I got the text from him. If I were at the track looking for a bet, I would have picked Mr Pocket as it is 100 per cent for Cowell and has won off a higher mark. The good news is that Paul Midgley had a winner at Thirsk this afternoon (Tanasoq 8/1); the bad news is that, according to the Racing Post statistics, Midgley has not had a winner at Newmarket in the last five years and nor has the jockey Dougie Costello.
Have to confess I thought about leaving it as I was nowhere near the bookies. I got a load of stick for putting the bet on and not telling any of the regular old duffers it because they were busy moaning about the Uttoxeter race that was in progress! I did notice on the Sporting Life racecard that it won the Prix de l’Abbaye in 2014, so clearly it was a handicap snip.
Phil Jones – English. Every coach and striker in the World Cup will have noted that one... Not entirely sure how he stayed on the field – did Michael Oliver not think that was a goalscoring opportunity? Parking the bus no longer an option.
cheers qm , getting good info off midgley yard , he's a good trainer , and knows the time of day , i'm in french alps at the mo , so can't get a bet online
I think the Cup Final was delightfully summed up on the BBC’s online feed by one (presumably disgruntled Man U fan) commenting on the performance of Paul Pogba: “If I wanted to see something flashy and expensive that’s really just a pointless waste of time, I’d have watched the Royal Wedding” What Royal Wedding?
Given up on the building work and gone for something where the quality of life is better? High on a hill was a lonely goatherd Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo Loud was the voice of the lonely goatherd Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo At least we can still hear from you.
Didn't watch the FA Cup final but really enjoyed the Royal Wedding, well apart from the extremely overly enthusiastic american preacher.
Yep I'd imagine all those millions of Americans and Australians would agree with you...4 words spring to mind 'envy of the world'.
