That's what happens when you are a low Championship club. Too many years of acting like small fry. The whole PR shape of the club needs to change. We f@@ked it up in 1996. Just when football and money really kicked in we spend 16 years in a lower division. We got another chance and blew that. Let's hope we don't spend another 16 years here.

Yep, if you looked on their QPR news page it was there. But not newsworthy enough to feature on the homepage. Oh well, let’s hope we fly under the radar for a bit longer and sneak up on the other teams in the Chumpionshit next season.

I wish Steve all the best. Clearly a good and well respected coach. His managerial positions haven't worked fully as yet, but that can be said of nearly all managers that have become successful eventually.
Hopefully this will be his time.

Is it limited? Looking at newsnowQPR I saw the news covered by national media, foreign media, various local media, plus various social and sports media. Sky have got their own separate in the car window interviews with McClaren and Les. We're no big splash newsmakers but then we never have been really.

 

I’ve been thinking about Steves’ appointment, reading the interesting comments on here (improvements in training for the youngsters etc) and the questions (what’ll happen with the back room staff etc) but no one’s asked the big, important question yet.
Does he know how to win a cup game?

Does he have a favourite player that he always gets to come with him? For eg can we expect an ex Derby player to sign. Bradley Johnson?

 

Yes. If he can remember! League Cup winner and EUFA cup finalist with Boro in 2004 and 2006 respectively.

Totally agree - who do we think we are right now. Lower mid-table champs club with some really promising young players who are being given a chance. Think he’s as good as we could expect right now and poss even punching above our current weight....a good coach who despite his downturns has worked successfully for SAF, took MBRO to league cup & Euro final & won a league in Europe which was the equivalent of Leicester st the time. What makes anyone think this is a bad appointment.
Proper coach, will nurture young players and hopefully his first order of biz is to discard Arry & Ollys tombola selection barrel!!

I think this could be a good appointment, I have always rated him, getting out the championship is usually down to how good your manager is, not your budget, and with QPR having some good young prospects, play offs not impossible
