Roker Report can this afternoon confirm that talks between Stewart Donald, Ellis Short and the EFL went well today, and that the new owners were given approval by the governing body to complete their takeover of Sunderland AFC.

The meeting - which was held today at the EFL headquarters - was a successful one, and Donald can now begin to finalise his deal with Ellis Short, to become the new owner.





Lets hope that this one goes better. I don't care if we never see the prem again so long as we have a well ran club which we can be proud of again.

Note this is confirming EFL approval, not completed take over, It's a formality.
