Do you know what i actually think BIG Chris has a point here (not saying that I agree completely with everything) but fragments yes, he does tend to go missing in Bigger games Mags home and away against Chelsea fades in and out. Now I know he is only young but 20 million, if true???

I sort of agree with Sunderlad and Big Chris to a certain extent

Henderson is a canny player but bar the Chelsea game at there place when every1 was on the same wave length he does seem to struggle a tad against the top teams

I aint saying the lads a bad player he does need a rest

    BUT

for 20m I would drive the lad there myself

how much have we just paid for sess 6m? and Muntari rumoured to be 8m in the summer

would rather we took the 20m because as we are seeing with the African lads we can spend it on better players than Jordan

    Henderson is awful. Period.

He hasn't had a good game since he popped up with a goal against West Ham, I think.

I don't rate him at all and have no idea what the fuss between the Sunderland fans is. His England call up was far, far too soon and I don't think it helped him in any way.

So Sunderland fans aren't fans if they move away. But you aren't impressed "by the local lad image".

I had thought that you weren't particularly bright but could be commended for your civic pride.

    I was wrong. You're just a ...

Holy **** Chris, do you actually support SAFC or are you just an annoying interloper?

The kid has bags of potential and WILL one day be a superstar. But he is far from that right now, and is learning all the time. I wouldn't sell him at all, I want that potential at my club. We have to be careful not to get the tag of selling club.

I also think he could use a rest and come back stronger but we need to keep him and develop more like him.

But must of all we need to SUPPORT him and let him know we want in at our club.

people are far too easily blinded by the local lad image

Is this the person who reckons only people who live in the area have the right to support Sunderland.

I like Henderson and I believe he will be a decent player but definitely not at CM.

As I have previously claimed he's much to slight in build and needs to bulk up a bit. He's 20years old and he won't get any bigger through natural growth.

You can't fault his fitness and he certainly has skill although both Malbranque and Zenden both have more. (More experienced of course)

We are heaping far too much on this young lad and the expectations of many is far too high. He needs to play on the right where he won't get pushed around as much and has more space and it'll take two more seasons to make a true appraisal of his value.

In the meantime one thing I must point out is that if the rumours are true Ferguson can see the potential is there and is prepared to gamble (as stated previously - if the rumours are true).

If this is the case I would rather back his judgemant than that of our freind Mr Christian Anderson here.

I dont like the way Henderson is being slagged off by alot of Sunderland fans.

He's 20 yrs old and been excellent overall this season.

I know hes had some stinkers (e.g Chelsea, and both mag games).

But hes a much better player than last season and he's gonna get better..

Its not his fault, what people or other clubs value him as a player.

Get of his back and let him play football.

this article is anything but a wummin artical. i have 7 or 8 people who agree with me on this so if it was a wumming article this would not be the case. so it confirms i am not alone in my thinking of this. if £20m gets offered, snap their hands off and run as fast as we can

I think it is quite dreadful the way he is being slagged off by some - pathetic, slighted & short-termist'. Expectations are way out of kilter here, relative to where he is physically and in terms of experience.

Give the lad a break.....he should not have the responsibility of being our midfield dynamo - how long did it take Frank Lampard to deveop into the player he is - not until he shed a few pounds, got fit/stronger and built up his game around the age of 25 or 26 I believe. He was 'pish' before that, a lot more 'pish' than Jordan. If SAF is touting to buy him, I think he can see a lot more in the potential of a footballer than the majority of us.

As many sensible posters state, with the right players around him (which we now have) and Brucie and co's man-management, he will improve. Adding heading and shooting to his game....leave the tough tackling to the battlers in the middle.

He is not a CM, he is a right-sided midfield player and needs two CMs like Catts & Muntari to let him play his game.

He does need a rest - look at how much football he has played compared to his 'contemporaries' as per the v. good/objective Roker Report article.

it doesnt matter where he is better playing or worse playing, the thing is he is being banded about at £20m for his role as a centre midfielder. he is not being banded about for £20m as anyhing else. mate £20m is a huge sum and if we can sign maybe someone like nzogbia for £10m and £10m towards welbeck deal then in my eyes its a deal we should snap their hands off end of. you cannot tell me he is worth that

Banded about by who though? The newspapers?

Just cause he played crap on Tuesday, so people slag him off for not being worth £20m.

No teams offered anything, so nobody knows what he would be sold for.

Its people like you who would be happy if the lad failed, so you can come on here and say "I told you so".

He's gonna prove all the doubters wrong and have a fantastic career.

The treatment that Hendo gets from some of our so called "fans" is deplorable. He is 20 for god sake he is bound not to have that consistency level yet. He has played in every game for us and needs a break but we cant afford to give it to him with our injuries. We should be proud to have such a player in our side yet some to be always on the lookout for the latest scapegoat. Henderson should be given the support of our supporters or else we will lose one of the best talents we have at the club.

there is no doubting the lad has talent. i would never ever question that. what i said is IF we were offered £20m we should snap someones hand off for it as the value is way way way too high. he goes missing far too often to be classed as a marvellous talent. and i will say it again IF HE WASNT FROM ROUND HERE EVERYONE WOULD BE ON HIS BACK. its a fact and you know it

Yes i agree he might have been called up a bit early but he played well for U21's & if you are going to experiment then why not give him a try. It was bad enough his debut was against France (who might not be the best anymore but had alot of fringe players with Champions League experience) but he was also played out of position, far too deep & the worst part was he had to play alongside Gareth Barry!
