I must say that if someone is going to come on and attempt a Dr Sir Barney Chuckles OBE VC MFI M&S KGB parody, and in my opinion it should be Compulsory with a capital ‘C’ for all new members, at least make it half decent instead of the error ridden very poor attempts contained within this thread. Attempters you have let me down, yourself down and most importantly of all the forum down. Hang your heads in shame. And as someone once famously said on this forum ‘more research required’.

For instance Beef stew day is Tuesday (although the one a week on Tuesday will be the final one…allow me a moment to wipe away a tear) and surely anyone, who is anyone, knows that its fish on Friday. Still full of hope, by the way, that this battered cod and chipped potatoes rumour is true.

    Carry on...

The Breivik account was me - it was set up for a GC thread on humanising mass murderers and the login is jammed on it on my phone.

I was just trying to join in <sorry>

Fleet Street busy ridding tomorrow's front pages of pictures of the bride-to-be in order to make way for "Chuckles Chuffed at Chunky Chips"

I quite like a chunky chip. Its chucky carrots that I’m not a fan of. Bit early though, old boy, to be thinking of headlines. It still hasn’t been officially confirmed that it is indeed battered cod and chipped potatoes for lunch today.

The canteen at my place of work has recently been taken over by a new catering firm, Eurest (no, I've never heard of them either). The outpourings of dissatisfaction on the "Feedback Forum" (big mistake of the company Bigwigs IMHO, allowing every Tom, Dick and Harry to post his thoughts on everything from car parking to the size of portions in the canteen) have been quite something to behold. First world problems indeed.

It will be battered cod and chipped potatoes for me in Wetherspoons on the way to Aintree.

Incidentally Eurest used to be Compass (maybe you have heard of them) until they were taken over by the darned French.

The one to avoid at York this afternoon is 2:55 DANCE DIVA.

In his Sporting Life column, Fahey says that it has “Threading to beat” but the real problem is that I am chasing my losses from last time at Newbury and the time before on the Knavesmire (last chance saloon today); plus the favourite is stepping up from an easy maiden win for an in-form big yard and could be a Group horse.

Fish and chips was Monday at QM Towers: at five to three today I am hoping for a chicken dinner... <laugh>

Hmmmmm ................ can't say I have. They seem to want to promote healthier eating (which is good) BUT have trimmed down the salad bar selection to the real basics (gone is tuna, feta cheese, anything that adds a bit of pep to a salad) and the salt mills on the tables do not appear to be on any sort of refill programme. Yet 2 of the 4 choices each day are what I would call "fast food" unhealthy - today's being "Fleischkäse" (a slab of fried sausage meat) and battered fish with mashed potatoes (oh how we long for "chipped")

Eurest are a huge multi national company Oddy. They are geared up like many other big players in the catering industry with slick sales and marketing folk with lovely glossy brochures and all the H&S and Environmental stuff which management executives love and which helps them to win the big OJEU contracts. When it comes to delivery its mass produced ****e and minimum wage staff at the coalface who have to take the flak. I've no idea what the criteria is for some of these healthy eating accreditations but they certainly aren't onerous.

Had to look up that one as the name was so familiar. As I thought, a descendant of Wemyss Bite, Irish Oaks winning daughter of Dancing Brave. The top half of the pedigree looks tidy too with Kayasi, High Line, Blushing Groom, Northern Dancer and the great Ribot. I have a grand daughter of Dancing Brave and the dam of your boy is also a grand daughter of Dancing Brave. So all the best with that one

Carrie's Vision seemed to try to go everywhere on the Knavesmire but the Gent's toilet and she can't go there. One to keep an eye on?

He sure is. In his Sporting Life column on Monday he said George Bowen was in and out but on his best form would have a small chance. GB won on Tuesday by 6 lengths

Cheer up GM your boys are in the play off final at least. Gave the mighty Imps a bit of a beating last night (with a bit of assistance from the ref).

That's true, but over the last couple of years I've been following the Chiefs (going tomorrow). City had a massive chance of going up last year and blew their chances so hopefully they will do it this time round. Off to Twickenham next Saturday for the final after Chiefs Win tomorrow but City not up until the Monday.

I know the Rule 4 is an established regulation, but it is galling just the same. I fully expected Threading to win and took 7-2 this morning - now only paying out at almost half that :(
