Does this inspire you with confidence? http://www.insidewalessport.co.uk/cardiff-city-closing-in-hamburg-striker-schipplock/
Only in that Warnock won't leave us with the same amount of debt and commitments that we ended up with last time we were here. Other than that...... Nnnoooo.
It doesn't inspire me with confidence, if NW thinks he can do a job then I bow to his experience and superior knowledge.
This sounds desperate; surely there are better options available. I know NW likes to get his new squad all done and dusted early doors but there’s plenty of time yet. I mentioned previously his track record of signing strikers at City leaves question marks
Anyone from here? https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pre...traege/wettbewerb/GB1/jahr/2018/plus/1/page/1
Most of those on the list are getting on now and there's not many that apeal to me Nick. If we're looking for "Warnock type" players maybe Charlie Adam would be a good free import. Apart from him we need to look for better despite it probably involving a decent fee. Maybe some decent youngsters on loan will be an option, but as a rule I don't like loanees from past experience.
I think Adam's best years are behind him by a distance and isn't really good enough for the Premiership anymore, so best to avoid. Warnock might have better luck trying to rekindle Stephen Ireland, but there'd be strong parallels to Tomlin there, so risky. You don't think Michel Vorm might be a good option as keeper, or are the Swansea connections a turn off?
The Swansea thing about Vorm doesn't put me off Nick, but for a Keeper I'd rather have Marshall back from Hull - he's far better than he's been up there. In fact the Swansea connection wouldn't put me off Ki who's also the list - suspect his midfield aggression would also fit in with Warnock. Don't want to spend silly money, but I think there's someone out there that's going to surprise us - and he's not on that list.
I'd still take him as a squad player if the price was right. A bit of nous to close out a game / hold onto a point. A bit of 'been there, done that' on the training pitch and in the dressing room. He doesn' have to play 90 minutes for 38 games, but would be worth a few points over the season which could make the difference. We've got ralls, Paterson and possibly gunnarsson to do the running. Someone to do the right thing at the right time, pick a pass for zohore or hoilett and marshall the front 6 could be the difference. Last time we went up, we didn't have that experience in the squad.
I reckon if you get yourself over to a Stoke forum they won't be speaking highly of Adam. Experience is one thing, but wasting wages on players past their best is a common mistake made. Just my opinion, but I think your money can be spent much more wisely.
Tend to agree but we're talking free transfers here and not up front money. As said, Adam's wage demands could be a problem and deemed to be a waste if not up to regular team selection. I reckon some decent bucks are going to be splashed on some "off the radar" targets that have already been identified. Just a matter of time.
No for me Marshall is the past, he hasn’t played much football in recent seasons so I would hope NW looks elsewhere. But hang on isn’t Etheridge worth a shot?
I am not against Bakary Sako if the wages are reasonable. Pace, skill, and some flair. How would he react to Neil? http://www.thegazette.news/scouting-report-malis-bakary-sako/
Anyone else remember that great season Stephen Ireland had at Man City. I wonder if Warnock could get something out of him?
We have to work inside our budget (whatever it is) . So I'm thinking NW will give us a few surprises . He as probably got a list to work too, which as been discussed and agreed too by the board . This list won't be on Wales online or sky sources or any other media. Well the window opens today, I don't think we will have to wait too long for our first signing .
Well. Who have we signed then? The transfer window is open. Thought there'd be a queue of players waiting for their medical.
