but it was given so it was a pen. ergo a precedent so... ref today not giving a hand ball that was arm out blocking.ball that was falling to salah foot for open goal shot is ridiculous. accident of not the guy gains a huge advantage from it.
Well, he didn't give a penalty today so that obviously wasn't a penalty so is therefore zero. Refs either make mistakes or they don't, you can't have it both way unless your have is Diego!
Not so sure on that From what i have seen in euro games both barca and real seem very protected by refs, this is before we play them. Lots of teams have fllen foul to the protection they have been offered. Hope whoever the ref is calls it down the line, cause if they do it could be a classic.
The record for a CL final win is AC Milan 4-0 Barcelona We have a #legit chance of beating that if the ref is fair
Hmmmmm, real are a very good side, full of attack like ourselves, i expect a bit of a goalfest if reffed well but can see us going down to 10men.
How about a repeat of the 1960 final score.............Liverpool 7 Real Madrid 3 has a nice ring to it
The battle i'm looking forward to the most is Salah against Marcelo. Going forward Marcelo is brilliant, but his tendancy to bomb forward and get caught upfield is one of Real's main weaknesses.
In 2005, I watched the CL final match from an old local with my daughter. At 3-0 down, some locals had left, disgruntled. My daughter who was 9 years old at the time suggested that our table was unlucky and that we should move to a more lucky table, nearer the TV. The rest is history. The pub has had 4 landlords since but the table has remained as the 'lucky table' - although that's the only game of significance that it has actually been lucky. My daughter, now 22 suggested that we all go to watch the match in 2 weeks from the lucky table. Now this table has seen the Gerald slip and a couple of lost finals so I'm wondering if it is actually lucky at all.....in fact since that day, it's been f#cking firewood... My new local is guaranteed a raging piss up because my best mate is the landlord. He has told me that I will be expected. (I actually believe that I'm just cheap entertainment to other pubgoers after 5 pints and that's why he insists that I go!) So where do I go? Do I make a new luck table/stool/space or do I go wherever with my Daughter (who may actually be the lucky one)
Hotels in Kiev charging 100 times standard rates for Champions League final Hotels in the Ukrainian capital Kiev are facing fan backlash after they began charging 100 times their standard rates for the match and offering excuses ranging from water supply shortage to virus outbreaks for cancelling early reservations. please log in to view this image Women walk past a poster of the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final set on a building in Kiev on May 10, 2018. Kiev is preparing for the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final which will be played at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium on May 26, 2018 (AFP) Fancy shelling out 3,500 euros ($4,200) for a night in a budget hotel? Liverpool and Real Madrid fans who do not may end up sleeping rough for the night when they come to Kiev for the Champions League final. The Ukrainian capital is the focus of fan fury after its hotels began charging 100 times their standard rates for the big match on May 26. And some supporters lucky enough to book their beds before they turned into luxury items were aghast to discover their reservations annulled. The Liverpool FC supporters club even posted a "rough" guide on Facebook that included overnight stays in the Polish city of Wroclaw. The trek back out of Kiev was set for 3:00 am. The European football governing body UEFA issued a diplomatic statement to AFP agreeing it might be wisest to just pop in and out of town on match day. "It is expected that the preferred option for the majority of travelling fans will be charter flights arriving and leaving on the same day," UEFA said. The rates some of the city's more modest places are charging sometimes look like a misprint. A hotel called Harmony on Andriyivskiy Descent offers a room with a double bed and a miniature TV set balanced on a windowsill for 3,534 euros. Another two euros gets you a breakfast. A person at reception asked AFP to write a formal letter to management when asked why the price had been revised up for that one day from the usual 29 euros. Fans who thought they were being clever by booking long in advance also had trouble getting answers after discovering they had no places to stay. "Booked my hotel for Kiev months ago," a Liverpudlian named Stephen wrote on Twitter. "Now @bookingcom decided that they are gonna cancel it for me free of charge so I can re-book it for 15 grand!" A spokesperson for Booking.com said all of the site's prices were set by the hotels and that it was ready to defend the interests of clients who had their reservations tossed out. Ukranian horror story The Spanish sport daily Marca published accounts of similar horror stories befalling Real fans. One received a message from his hotel asking him to cancel his reservation "because we will not have electricity and water for the dates indicated." Another place said "a virus attack" was responsible for a cheap room being offered when in fact there were none. Kiev city authorities have responded by assigning the problem to the state anti-monopoly committee. The committee said on Tuesday that it had started "to monitor prices on the hotel services market." It has not been heard from since. All of which prompted kind Ukrainian souls to start a Facebook page offering free couches to desperate lovers of the beautiful game. It had nearly five thousands members by Saturday and a big write-up in the Liverpool Echo newspaper. Page creator Victor Kylymar told the paper that he was not really into football but felt an "obligation" to help people out. "This is a common event for all of Europe and to use this to make money is not the best idea," Kylymar said. https://www.trtworld.com/europe/hot...andard-rates-for-champions-league-final-17416
This is a great way to finish the season. Last year our season just fell away to nothing. this year we have something to look forward to
I texted my reporter mate last night asking for his predictions for the FA and CL cup finals. He's a utd supporter. He texted back saying "wW'll win the FA Cup 1 - 0 with the only on-target shot in the whole game. You'll win 8 - 6"
