If we had been relegated last season the talk was that our squad would be based around our Under 23's, with Baston up front. It probably won't be far off that with Baston and McBurnie up front.

That has always been their long term plan, allegedly.

"There's been lazy scouting, bringing back players who have been at the club - the likes of Andre Ayew, Wilfried Bony - bringing them back hasn't worked, it's as simple as that.

"Have they got the squad there now to put a promotion push together next season to get them back into the Premier League? I'm not too sure." - former Wales striker Roberts.

Hope not Baston has hardly played this season.
    Bony and McBurnie maybe.
I have a concern that we'll get a failed UK manager who will reduce our squad even further.
I would also be very concerned if we try to rely heavily on the under 23 squad, as we have seen, many have gone to League 2 clubs and not played.

Lots of doom and gloom <laugh> It does not matter how long we have been in the premiership we are not in it now and that is what counts and the premiership is now a distant memory......There is no one factor that we were not good enough there are a lot of reasons and not just this season either, We have been making huge mistakes for a number of seasons and it was only a matter of time we would be relegated and we finally achieved it and deserved it too.

Bonys on over £4 million a year. I think they'll be keen to get him off the pay bill.

    What fee would he command?
goals if he is fit versus cost of buying in similar.
Does his contract have a relegation clause?

In recent years you have been there more than us. Not sure about historically though. But it is true we've never gone bust and cap in hand to creditors. Someone on your site asked what if the Yanks f off....the answer is bust again and points off and tax man will not forgive this time. It will be liquidation.

Loan sharks all paid off. It's the owner's debt now. What about your debt...not got any coz got no assets. You're a cash business since your owners won't stump up anything.....Huw sold to make a load for himself plus he knew he would not be able, or wish, to fund transfers let alone operating costs. Shamefully, the new owners have not come forward with the funding to break the sell-then-buy policy you must have. Hence you buy at the end of the transfer period and get poorer options.
As for Billy Bollocks, the same could very well be said about you lot. Short memories too....but if someone does not get a hold, you could get some reminders of life in the nether regions. That would be a great shame, I might add.......at least for most of your fans.

How the hell do you come to this conclusion? are you thick or what? the Yanks will cut their losses, they could well be payed off with the sale of 3 or 4 players, we will recieve over £60Million next season, and will be one of the highest earners in the Championship, not bad for a 'small club', plus all the players have relagation clauses in their contracts so dream on with your little fantasy, oh and we have no debts!!..........<laugh>

PS: The Yanks might want to ride it out (doubtful I know), but we are still an atractive club for new investors also, who could well come in and buy the Yanks out...........<ok>

Not thick at all......and not fantasising. You have no debt because you have no assets to borrow against. However, you will have liabilities and few assets to set against those. As long as you have relegation clauses that will help. But we took a long time to clean out the cost structure. And by the way, no-one called you a small club. Much depends on how cash is managed in the next years. Last two times it was a near thing. The Yanks may or may not go but if they do, they will sell to someone who bids the most...... and who mortgages the club to raise the money. In fact, didn't that happen this last season just before the transfer market when short-term lending was taken against future TV earnings to fund purchases? Paid back hopefully....but your club model is (was?) based upon transfer profits to mitigate operational losses.
By the way, you can't pay shareholders off by selling assets....... not without safeguards for creditors....it's the equivalent of buying back shares and therefore treating the shareholders preferentially. You get rid of the Yanks by someone buying their shares.

Not sure you've thought this one through Phil.

The yanks own the club. Therefore the money raised by selling players belongs to them, as they own the club. The £60m "we receive" goes to the club which belongs to the yanks.

So how do you think the yanks will get bought out using their own money?
