    Some thoughts red ......................

2.00 Prime Venture e/w - I liked his chances at Aintree but for me he was ridden too far off the pace and couldn't close up the straight on the soft ground. He finished 2nd in this last year and, although he goes off a 10lb higher mark this year, the trainer's daughter takes off 7. I fancy a big run if he is ridden more prominently.

3.10 William H Bonney e/w. I suspect the Alan King yard is starting to hit a bit of form and William H Bonney has run well in some of the big handicap hurdles last season without really finishing off his race (lots of finishes just outside the money). The wind surgery should hopefully help this and he has finally been given a little respite by the handicapper (dropped to 129, his lowest ever rating and just 1lb out of the handicap).

5.25 Beggar's Wishes looks to be progressive (unlike most of his rivals) and preferred to Ballyarthur due to the going.

    Have a great day <ok> <cheers>

If we're talking about a particularly sizable workforce, I'd put them all on a no-hoper to drive out the price of your main fancy. You know it makes sense.

Sir Barney, Cosmeapolitan ran a blinder yesterday, jockey made a right arse of it. What a braw looking animal. Be interesting to see where they go with it.

Im on at 12s but Skybet still 7/1 Elarqam for the Irish Guineas, Paddies cut to 11/4 this morning after recent reports that hes likely to run in it.

Hopefully add him the list of my guineas losers who won the Irish race with Mastercraftsman, Canford Cliffs and Kingman.

2 bets today in Ascots Victoria Cup. Bit of a lottery but here goes:

Sabador 11/1 each way 5 places
Spanish City 14/1 each way 5 places

I think Sabador has a big chance and jockey booking takes my eye. Spanish City could be anything and sneaks in at the bottom and is related to some useful sorts. I can't decide between them so backing both.

Lo Boris. Say, since you're going all French on us shouldn't you go the whole hog, i.e. "Ostensiblement Recherché"?

(PS: Jeez, hope I've got that right as it's years since I did any French. Hope don't get egg on honourable chops! - :emoticon-0101-sadsm).

A young female work colleague went to Ascot last night and asked for tips. I gave her 5 seconds and a third!

For my weekend punt have gone for Silver Streak in the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock (3:10) at the 7/1 generally available atm. Possible favourite in this wide-open handicap so who am I to mock Gazboy? :emoticon-0100-smile
