I hope we can off load Bony TBH and get close enough to what we paid for him and if we make a loss we have to take it on the chin.....We need a much younger striker who is hungry and wants to make himself a well known striker for the future and we are the club for that who have propelled many a players future....Put what we get for the sale of Bony and double it for a Striker of notability who looks and performs to a standard that is worth investing in......A Striker will always be the most valuable player that costs money....
Thought I might have had the wrong title to this thread, but it's looking good for the money! ........
On last seasons and this seasons performances we really dont have any complaints if we go down and should take it on the chin if we do....Everyone was saying that Carlos was our saviour because he had a little honeymoon period but he has been useless ever since the reality kicked in....
\if you go down, do you think you have the right squad to dog it out in the Championship? From your comments on here on other threads, you seem to doubt it. Puts all the more pressure on Tuesday's game.
No we won't survive the championship with this lot but our top players like Fab will go anyway and we will have to recruit a lower standard of player. When Cardiff went down after one season it really did not interrupt your squad much but we have been in the prem for a good length of time and are fully adjusted to the Premiership......We have seen how Sunderland and Hull have fared so IF we go down then some big changes will take place. Changes will have to take place if we stay UP also ....Only a different sort of change....
No. We got out of the Championship, not by dogging it out, but by playing a brand of football that was out of this world and based on work undertaken for five seasons. The idea that we buy players to play an 'English' style (hard graft, little skill and even less football nous) came in with Monk and was the basis for our appalling series of relegation battles. We couldn't afford to buy 'English' style players who could compete in the PL and lost the technically gifted players that could outmanoeuvre other teams. Also, other sides copies out philosophy as we were losing it.
The writing was on the wall for us when Jenkins done the dirty deal with the Yanks, Though Monk started the rote with our playing style, the idiot that he is............
Oi, don't pick on Gary Monk, I happen to like the chap very much.... (Well I do now anyhow after yesterday ) Will be interesting to see how you fare on Tuesday night now... Southampton have been playing a little better of late, though I do reckon you'll come through and survive by the skin of your teeth! Can't bring myself to wish you luck but it'll be fun next season if you do stay up
We deserve the drop and will now probably lose key players and i dont have a lot of sympathy with that, We let our best player go two seasons on the trot when we should have said no. We employed two managers that were not good enough to run a premiership team, We spent £60m on rubbish. We sent out players that we could have used, 27 goals all season is pathetic and the player of the season was our keeper tells a story how dysfunctional side we are.....The both managers we have had are all talk with no action and are clueless.
Very true, now the real fun will start! Rats jumping ship, duff transfer deals loaned abroad still on the books as we go down to Championship revenue, big hole in the gate receipts as the plastic disappear, cannot see our Yankee vultures hanging around for too long as their investment turns bad, anyone seen skinflint Jenkins.............
Where there's a pulse there's hope. Chelsea have a lot on tonight's game so they may win but, I can't see Arsenal sending a team down - gentlemanly draw.
