"They're all going". To quote an un-named player to me at the @hullcity Player of the Year awards. No great surprise re out of contract players.

if it's not late to tell...

    1) McGregor - stable quality during full season.
    2) Bowen - very good till injury and coach replacing, lost his scoring pace (and position) a bit under new coach.
    3) it's hard to choose, but let it be Hernandez. He could be key player of that season. Everything could be much better if not his injury. 10 games / 8 goals. Top statistics.

*) special joker is Wilson, it's pretty sad he wasn't here from the start

Overall it was a season of false hopes and wrong decisions.

The thing I’ll say about this is who will we actually miss?:
We’ve known Abel has been going for 2 years, so that’s not a miss.
Meyler is one of my favourite players and I’d have him as captain - but he’s hardly played and when he has he’s been largely slated. So thats not a miss.
Dawson is well past it. I wouldn’t play him, so that’s not a miss.
Clark - the jury is out but I don’t think we’ll regret it.
McGregor has been excellent but Marshall was signed ahead of him and I honestly feel he’ll come good. Plus we simply can’t sustain 2 senior keepers and - with this in mind - I wouldn’t have even offered McGregor a deal. So that’s not a miss.
    Larsson - he’s a miss. A big one.
Moses - he’ll be the biggest miss. A disaster.

    Have I (arf) missed anyone?

In terms of replacements, I’d only sign 2 centre backs, an experienced and a young right back plus a young left back in reserve. I think we’ve already got the numbers everywhere else that our budget will allow for permanent signings.

We're losing our best keeper, our best striker, our best central midfielder and our best central defender (he's had some dodgy games, but over the season, he's still been our best defender), is obviously fairly disastrous.

Just because we knew some of them were going, doesn't mean we're not going to miss them.

Odubajo is the only one I think there's still a chance of us keeping hold of, as long as he'll accept a season long pay as you play deal to prove his fitness.

The fact that Dawson was ‘our best central defender’ is part of the reason we have been so ****e. Scoring hasn’t been a problem. If Dawson had been first choice next season we’d have done no better and I honestly feel if he goes to Forest he’s weakening a rival.

Simple economics says Mcgregor has to go.

Abel is completely moot, he was never ever staying not even if we went back up.

If our starting centre backs next season are Mazuch and MacDonald, we'll do worse.

Losing McGregor, Hernandez, Larsson, Dawson and Meyler makes us far weaker, however you spin it.

Particularly when you consider we'll probably lose Bowen as well.

Yeah I said we should sign 2 centre backs.

Incidentally, I think MacDonald will be captain next season.

I think people are ****ting their pants a bit, I can’t see us being in a worse position next season and I think we’ll be better with even just decent signings. Assuming Burns is right and no others go:

    Marshall
    RB
    CB
    MacDonald
    Kingsley
    Bowen
    Henricksen
    Irvine
    Grosicki
    Toral / Dicko
    Campbell

    Toral / Dicko
    Keane
    Evandro
    Stewart
    Mazuch
    Batty
    Mannion
    CB
    RB
    LB
What’s the deal with Weir anyway?
Chuck in a couple of loans and thats plenty.

Grosicki will go, Bowen too if someone tempts blunder boy with enough money. Evandro and Mazuch's bodies are made out of poppadoms and will be out injured most of the season. Weir, Keane, Stewart not good enough.

Adkins has one hell of a job on his hands this summer. I can only see another season fighting relegation.

I hope Grosicki does go. Everyone said he would last summer and he didn’t.

The best thing that could happen player wise this summer is he has a storming world cup and we pocket £5m.

Aye, getting rid of a player with 9 goals and 5 assists this season would be brilliant.

He may be a bit hit and miss, but when he's on song, he's one of our best players.

I think he’s a bad apple. He has one of the worst on-pitch attitudes I’ve seen since Matt Wicks.

If we’re looking at pure stats like that then you’d say we should get rid of Dawson.

Getting back to the PotY, is it just me that thinks its a bit odd for the manager to give his award to someone who he begged to stay, but hasnt? Even if he thought he was the best player, give it to someone who could at least be here next season.

Unless he made the decision before he rejected a deal.

The thing about supporting a team is you like to feel a connection wth those players. In the past we had a few seasons of a more or less settled team. The affection we felt for the likes of Ashbee, Barmby,Deano and then Tom, Jake, Curtis etc. Myeler going has made me feel so sad because he connected with the supporters. This season half the time I found it hard to name those payers on the pitch. Next season it will be even worse. All the joy of supporting City is being stolen by our clueless owners who are simply business men with no passion or understanding and certainly no empathy with the supporters.
