From someone whose team has been there recently relegation is bad but it isn’t the end of the footballing world. Football exists outside of the PL no matter what Sky would have you believe. Obviously everyone wants to be in the PL as that’s where the best footballers in this country play but it’s not necessarily where the best or the most enjoyable football is played. Get rid of the mercenaries and the gutless and enjoy the football as opposed to be simply making up the numbers in the PL to the country money backed Clubs destroying the PL. Always had a soft spot for Swansea despite @ValleyGraduate12 so get back soon although always had a soft spot for him as well...
We dont deserve that we are a disgrace to call us a premiership club and everyone concerned with the club except our superb fans deserves the drop.....I dont care as it won't cost me money and it will serve everybody's right.. It will be interesting to see what happens from here. But at least we still have a welsh club to carry the flag in the premiership......It will be a long time before we ever grace the premiership again if ever.....
Gutted. By the gutless show over the last few weeks. Second lowest Net spenders, we have got what we deserved.
Are you Blind ? Nearly everyone on here if you look. Or as usual you are burying your head in the sand yet again...
This. Come on Swans, don't give up yet. Stoke are in disarray, you can beat them! I'll be cheering on Chelsea and Arsenal with the rest of you. Nothing against Huddersfield, just feel an affinity towards your club. Feel we have trod similar paths in the PL, playing eye pleasing attacking football up until recent mismanagement and the big club monopoly to buy the best players of any team that dare get above their station. Anyway, hard luck tonight and all the best.
We lost tonight because of a poor plan and poor subs. No faulting the effort of the team, just the quality. Soton came with a plan - 10 behind the ball and wait for us to blink, which is what we did with the substitution of Olsson. Hughes stopped it and brought on two right sided players, We lost concentration and Clucas lost the plot as if he had had it at any time tonight. Did we not realise a corner might travel beyond the far post and did Clucas think Long (?) might head it back in if given all the time in the world? Only Robert really stood out again but TBF much of that was down to the 11 man defence Southampton set up for most of the game. But maybe it's because he's the only one on the pitch or bench (bar Dyer) for whom the club means something. I would like to see the half dozen hand ball shouts but can't bring myself to watch the game again. Fabianski - doesn't rule his area, well positioned to make routine saves. Naughton - worked had and did what he was supposed to. Fede - excellent Mawson - decent, some jittery moments and he still has not concept of positioning. Olsson - poor going forward but it was a huge mistake substituting him Roberts - excellent Ki, Clucas, King - just how inept must the rest of the squad be for these three spineless & unless tw@@ to start a game? Ayews - work hard, if only others had the same spirit we would have been safe weeks ago. But still can't score. Subs - Clucas went to left back? Or did he? Why? We know he's even more pathetic there than in midfield. Left massive spaces and completely in dreamland for their goal. Dithering for that was like pre-Sousa defending. Abraham - back to the Championship for him I think. Carroll - FFS Narsingh - see above. With injuries, no speed or proven goal scorers Calvahal had had a very difficult job. But it only takes one strike to take 3 points. Unfortunately I see Chelsea and Arsenal sunning themselves against Huddersfield as Man City did at the weekend. It stinks nut there it is - our fate was in our own hands and our journeymen blew it.
Best of luck onwards from here Swansea fans. All of you who have been over on our board for the last few months have been so encouraging and gracious, I hope that things work out for you .
And it's Arsenes last game, they'll want to send him off with a win and Arsenal tend to play better when the pressures off. It's still on.
No you're not, though it looks bleak for you after last night. But Hudders will not get another point imo - they had their freak result on Saturday. Chelsea will win tonight. Beat Stoke on Sunday, rely on Wenger to win his last game in charge at Arsenal, and you're staying up.
I haven't seen a team put up so many high balls since the Irish rugby team of the 80s and my heart sank when Carroll came on. I can see Chelsea winning tonight but Arsenal not turning up on the weekend and Huddersfield get the point.
