Totally agree about Lambert and NA knowing we sometimes need a different option. Lambert has been a superb signing and I believe a better player than when signed, the amount of games he's started and with an aura of being indestructable. Hopefully your right and NA will pull off a new signing before the transfer/loan window shuts.
I think the Andrew Davies that won Player of the Season for us would be a very good signing. Unfortunately, a player that's managed just a handful of games on loan to the likes of Walsall, Preston and Sheffield Wednesday and a shadow of their former self wouldn't be. Shame, because he was excellent when he was with us.
Of all the players we have been linked with, I see Jay Rodriguez as the most progressive signing. This all depends on whether Burnley would let him go now that Ings is injured. I think that anything under £5 million would be a reasonable price for a young English U21 striker with bags of potential.
I would add that I expect to see cover coming in at some point for Central Defence, either permanent or on loan, possibly from the Premier League.
We currently only have one genuine attacking sub in De Ridder and I thought we could have done with Guly & either Connolly or Lambert getting a breather for the last 10 minutes.
Without trying to sound critical but what was wrong with the original thread http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/44691-Rumour-Mill-Wishlist-Thread
I think that, while a striker would be much appreciated, our main focus must be on a CB. We often struggle at the back so imagine if Fonte were to get injured. We would all be in dire straights! Yes, we do have the loan market to dip into if the unthinkable happens but, I personally would like to see us purchase a Premiership standard player who can slot into the team, allowing us to build for the Premiership. If we get a CB, we can then concentrate on buying a striker. I would love us to buy Jay Rodriguez and think we should pay over the odds to get him as he is a future star.
I think Beckford would be an excellent signing. I don't think his attitude will be a problem, he obviously has great respect for Adkins as NA was the person that kickstarted his career with that loan spell at Scunthorpe. And although I wasn't too impressed with him at St Mary's a couple of years ago, he's a quality player especially at Championship level. He actually scored quite a few goals at Everton last year and David Moyes is one of the best managers in the country so he has to have a good eye for a player.

My mate who supports Hull has just said that Waghorn has turned us down to join them, just a rumour ofcourse.
"Martyn Waghorn has rejected terms with Southampton, looks set to join Hull City #HCAFC" Fourth Official. FFS!
lol someone on the Echo site reckons we are getting a young Italian forward on loan from Manure! How likely is that!
Waghorn had the best season of his career under Pearson, so if he has decided to join Hull then it's of little surprise.
