Hogg in fact will be available for selection on Sunday. Will he start? Not to confuse the issue on particular players and maybe I could say this on another thread but we now have Eustace/Jenkins/Hogg vying for 1 or 2 spots. My analysis - and many won't like it is: Eustace = Ageing defensive midfielder - legs will run out within this or next 2 seasons Jenkins = Young defensive midfielder - after excellent first season then troubled by injuries & illness - WFC have been trying to convert him to box to box midfielder who scores some goals and links the play. Not yet successful. Hogg = young box to box midfielder who has shown at reserve level (after injury) that he can link play and score his share - we shall see. The future? Looking 2 years down the road a Jenkins/Hogg central midfield is a possibility. But what of our creativity - the passes to create real openings, not the snap shots & wayward crosses we have seen so far because the stats are lying to a certain extent. So what of Walker who is ready now (at least to try)? McGinn will be back maybe in the New year so how will we set ourselves up then? For now I'd like that gapping hole between the 2 central defensive midfielders & the attack to disappear and I hope Hogg is the man to do it.
Spot on analysis, One other option is to drop an out and out centre forward and put Mingoia, Wichelow or Murray in the hole to link play, but SD seems to favour the 4-4-2 from what we have seen so far.
Chris13 I also think that assessment is fair ...... but that and all the other suggestions still leave me lost as to what this afternoon's team will look and play like. I still don't see anyone but MS resolving the key issue "sticking it in the net". I also have this dread that Birmingham may have got their season going after their losses against Derby and Middlesboro. SD chatting certainly indicated that it will be very tough and didn't seem to want to set too many great expectations. Don't want to hear groudless optimism but ................. Guess we just hope that their away form continues one week longer. Enjoy one and all.
Good buy Hogg and with a centre forward and a midfielder things shoul dstart to brighten up. 2-1 win for teh Hornets today. Fingers and everything else crossed.

Todays result could leave us here. Defeat - Watford stay in 23rd position Draw - Watford move to 22nd Win - Best up to 15th, a win by four goals or more Win - Worst up to 19th, a win by one goal
Afternoon all, A very good Grand Prix this afternoon. Let's hope that we have a good result. The two new signings will have a difficult time gelling straight away. I do hope that we get to the second half before some start to write them off as useless.
Hodson, Jenkins and Mirfin on the bench? Deeney is the only attack minded sub available, better hope we don't have to chase the game.
I do not think Andreas Wiemann will need time to get used to his team mates, only Carl Dickinson and Mark Yeates as he has been with the others before. Jonathan Hogg knows Andreas and I am sure he will have been given informations by Andreas.
