Dunno who this co-commentator on BT is but he was spot on there. I'd have taken a point before the game but so far 3 points feels entirely possible.
To be fair, when does he not. I completely understand why Hughes starts him, because he's our one striker who can score. A pretty important factor. But unless he's supported by at least two, ideally three, other attackers, then he's rarely in a game.
Went into this game wanting a point but now that I've seen us play (And Everton not play) my expectations are rising to a win. I only hope that we don't end up regretting the handful of chances we had in that first half.
Why take a point? That makes Swansea a must win. This one is here for the taking, but we need some pace.
Cedric as usual. Bit surprised at Ryan. Good half tho. Good football & doing well. Played like that all season & we’d be challenging Brighton; which would be great.
Need to change something and go for the win. We played it safe vs Leicester in a similar position and we can't make that decision again.
Although gaining a point is huge, if we don't get the 3 pts it would feel like a big opportunity missed to take a bit of pressure off of the Swansea match to win the way that this game has gone. Swansea will probably be tougher than this match.
I don't envy Hughes here at all. Everton are there for the taking. We're not quite set up well enough to do that taking, but Hughes can easily change that. We have options on the bench. Based on that 45 minutes from Everton, if Hughes wants to gamble then I think there's a strong chance of it coming off. But the damage it would cause if it backfired and we lost, is huge. Possibly too huge. One way or another, it's time to earn your £1m bonus, Mark. (If Swansea had avoided defeat, Hughes' decision would have been made for him. Not that I'm complaining about Swansea losing!)
