Read somewhere that he has had more shots without scoring than any other PL player. He certainly does not look as if he is enjoying himself.
Game of 2 halves as we made it hard for ourselves by sitting back 2nd half after a strong attacking opening 45 minutes . Must be Gracia's tactics or we just lacked fitness. Anyway well done to Gray for getting his goal and time to look forward to next season. Much work is needed I suspect.
I'm ambivalent as to Javi staying or going. I suspect if he stays he won't last the season on recent evidence. On balance I think it would be bettor to maintain continuity. I listed all the coaches under the Pozzo's and there were legitimate grounds for all to be sacked or released from their contracts. Some clearly didn't buy into the Pozzo's ambition, and it showed. As to the match, well it was our season in 90 minutes, wasn't it? Decent first half, purgatory the second half... still, we won and just as well. Very hard to watch though.
Yup. To be fair Shelvey had a great second half. Without him I think their comeback would have fizzled out. But as you say hard to watch. Which means the Pozzos ability to identify managerial/coach material and interview potentials must be badly lacking. And if you look at Udinese you see the same approach and the same failings. Don't get me wrong the Pozzos are good bankers/financiers but they sure seem to know how to destroy the soul of a club.
