Firstly, **** luck for Koschielny (excuse spelling) missing out on a world cup is awful for him. Hope he recovers ok. So, after 22 years, the final home match of Wenger's reign has come along. It is a vital match as Burnley are just 3 points behind Arsenal.... yep ...Just 3 points. If arsenal lose they could finish 7th which will involve having to play 2 qualifying rounds of the EL, which mean the season would start in late July. pleeeeeaaaaassssseeeeee let it be! Arsenal need to pick themselves up after losing in a semi to a team who play in red and and white...after taking a lead they lost 2-1...what kind of bottlers lose in those circumstances? To make it a bit of a poor week they find themselves 14 points behind spurs...it would be gratuitous to point out that in December Gooners were mocking spurs as they were 5 points behind 4th place Arsenal fighting it out for 6th or 7th with Burnley so I for one will not be making any cheap shots about this At this point I'd like to apologise for the lateness of the thread but in all honesty it really is difficulty to type when you are laughing this hard This week I was hurt in work and had to go to hospital with concussion and can not remember anything about Wednesday so it has been well neighbourly of you lot to cheer me up All that remains is for me to say that hand on heart ... I hope that Brendan Rodgers is your next manager...pllllleeeeeeeaaasssseee
Burnley have played a game more at least and have much worse goal difference. Not that I really care if we finish 6th or 7th
Much as it pains me to say it, we need to finish as high up as possible. 7th is a Europa league playoff. No thanks.
This season like the last few is a complete and total write off as an Arsenal fan. I gave up my season ticket 2-3 seasons ago and was the best decision I made. I can't believe we are now fighting Burnley for 6th. I would much rather we did not qualify at all for Europey league altogether! I will be going to today's match just to ensure Mr AW is true to his word and is definitely leaving. The news of his departure is a silver lining, capping it would be Spuds imploding as they usually do and not make top4!
Overall - I like this starting 11 much better than the team we started against Madrid. Has a better balance - just need to replace Iwobi with Ozil.
Arsenal fans keep singing 'Vieira' song. I hope the board arnt listening .. really dont think he's the manager we need. The guy has no experience.
A few thoughts.. 1. I thought the starting 11 had a better balance today. Everyone was playing in their natural position. It's a shame we didn't play this side against Madrid - I guess thats somewhat typical though. 2. Mavro and Chambers both had good games. 3. Wilshere - arguably MOTM. Between him and Auba. 4. Kolasinac is quality - He had a few dodgy games but he's great going forward and is a powerhouse. With some defensive coaching he could be TOP TOP class. 5. Mertesacker and Ackers both had great send off. Crowd was great. 6. Auba is a BEAST. We should really build our side around him and Ozil next Season. 7. Wenger will be missed. He was a great coach.
I saw it mentioned but... If Wenger said at the beginning of the season he was going instead of 2 weeks ago... Would we have done better this season? I think so...
