We can't go there like we did the king power. We have to be braver.

I agree with you at the moment. And I suspect Hughes does too.

But if we kick off to the news that Swansea have lost, Stoke have failed to win, and maybe West Ham have lost too, then - as I say - the value in a point does become greater. Whether it'll become great enough though, I'm not sure. We would be left with no choice but to beat Swansea. (But then, maybe we need do that regardless of the Everton game?)

That's how I feel. six points we will probably be OK, four points we have a chance and anything less then we are down. I am hoping playing late will be a good thing, however you can never tell. Everton are going to be difficult but maybe we can have the edge if we are desperate.

Maybe its like that Netflix series* where the algorithm keeps betting on ever more unlikely outcomes and they keep happening and then they discover that the machine is doing stuff to affect the outcomes and make them happen. So if the Everton team all get locked in their cars by their computerised security systems then you heard it here first

    * Insert name here, can't remember what it was but it was good

Madness lies in all the thinking but 3 v Swans could do it with our superior GD and the Udders fixtures

BUT we've got to try and win this one anyway

Yeah under those circumstances a point may seem a good one, but that's assuming Huddersfield don't get an unexpected win somewhere which while unlikely, is very possible. They beat Man Utd a few weeks ago and are fighting for their lives. Too risky to play for a point regardless imo. I think we probably all see the Swansea game as a must win, but so will they. A win is far from a given in that one and we can't rely on getting it, so got to go for the win against Everton too. We could draw our next 3 and finish above Hudders but playing for that would be madness. All we can do is give ourselves the best chance of staying up, and first up that's trying to get 3 points from Everton.

As I've said before....I put a bet on once and lost. Why would I do it again?

This match isn’t just about 3 points.
It’s about keeping Tobes off of here until next season. :emoticon-0105-wink::bandit:

We need 3 points, nothing to lose either way if we go for it from the start. Hopefully the Everton players have their sandals on already...

Their fans are on Alydice's back big style which won't help the team. A good early goal will put pressure on them and get the crowd on their backs

yes you see I think we have an ever so slight advantage by playing Saturday evening also as in theory Mark Hughes can and probably will adjust his tactics based in part on the earlier results. like you say if the swans lose then a point becomes very valuable to us so a more defensive approach etc.

Four wins, two draws, and a defeat to Man City make up Everton's last seven games. Stoke, Brighton, Huddersfield and Swansea have all failed to beat them during that time.

They might not have anything to play for, but they're on form. No obvious sign that they're on their holidays.

Probably 4, if I'm allowed to be greedy. 3 might be ok but can't see 3x draws being achievable nor bearable. Can you imagine needing a draw against MCFC to stay up on the last game of season & hoping HFC lose to Arsenal :emoticon-0107-sweat :headbang: :emoticon-0184-tmi: :emoticon-0146-punch :emoticon-0141-whew: :emoticon-0101-sadsm :emoticon-0181-fubar ... and a hundred more

It's the usual position when fighting relegation...no one knows quite what you need as it depends on others. The permutations go on and on....so no real choice but win, win, win....especially against Swansea.

In the Bournemouth game, we won...because we deserved to and things went our way as well. We have had other games where we deserved to do better, but didn't because things didn't go our way....Watford being the prime example. The improvements in the team now would certainly save us....if we had more games left to allow for the vicissitudes of fate. From now on we have to play even better than against Bournemouth because we can't rely on McCarthy being on song for every minute.

I hope Leicester turn up Saturday. Just looked at their April results - one draw & lost to Palace, Burnley & Newcastle!
