Your right PNkt he was a gangly 2yo. They need to pick the right race for his seasonal debut and it's not the Guineas. The weather is looking ok for the first classic hopefully with it staying dry and getting warmer after Tuesday. M. Johnston has high hopes for Elarqam, so do i.

It's a shame Frankel will not have a runner in the 1000gns.

    Full race here

Considering how easy that was and that he was (supposedly) only 80%, a time of 2m 9.44s (fast by 0.56s) looks pretty encouraging

He has learned his craft well. Jockey wasn't to shabby either.

Sad news for Without Parole fans like me, he has a bruised foot and is out of the gns, so just Elarqam to shout home.

I think it’s from this year’s Juddmonte brochure so will have been taken last summer. He’s always been a stunner but just looks pure power in that shot!

It's an awesome picture, looks as good, if not better as when he retired.

This is a photo I took of him myself about 18 months ago. Not quite so shiny, but you can still see the power!

Keeping everything crossed that Elarqaam can emulate his dad this afternoon. I’m heading to the course with the kids so will try to get some pictures of him.

Not to be sadly, though 4th beaten just over 2 lengths is not to be sniffed at.

Also a shame Mori didn’t get to run at Goodwood, but she has some nice entries coming up in the Middleton at York in a few weeks and in the Pretty Polly at The Curragh in June. She’s also had a wind op in January so hopefully that will set her right for the coming season.

Agree PNkt, what i thought was encouraging he was getting closer at the end. I think M.Johnston made a mistake of not giving him a prep run, he beat the second by 3l when they met last year and that horse has had a good race this year. Saxon Warrior is a very good horse though.

Agree. He really played up in the stalls and I was worried he'd lose the race there. Was staying on and may be a 10f horse.

I don't know if I was being fooled by the TV shots in the paddock pre race but Elarqam looked immature compared to Saxon Warrior who seemed very stallion looking.

Saxion Warrior has always been a bit of a brute! ELARQAM takes after his dam, as with so many other Frankel’s, and she was quite compact.
