Rangers have parted company with manager Graeme Murty.

Gerrard is expected to get the gig.

Hopefully with Stevie at the helm they will gain approval into the English league. Maybe in place of MK Dons who can suffer a mandatory double regulation.

I've always hated the SPL, it's a joke league. Celtic are a mid Championship team who beat League 1 type opposition every week, who buy up anyone semi decent (by their standards) in Scotland so the others can't have them, then get a chance to make a **** of themselves in European competitions.

However, with Stevie G at the helm, I am gonna change me mind, and support Rangers.

    You Gers.

At least when Rangers died they didn't do an MK Dons and get to stay in the SPL.

Sorry, I just wanted to have a go at MK Dons again. **** them, thank **** you are going down and that AFC Wimbledon and Accrington Stanley will be in a higher division than you next season.

... Gerrard at Rangers could be interesting. He's been doing coaching badges for a bit.

When the chumps finally come up with an idea for tickets sales for next season, maybe they could also create a little half and half section so all of Stevie Gs gang from previous encounters can get their Half and half scarves (City and Stevie Gs Rangers) and watch City. Under the stands they could play constant Stevie G you tube clips or if the Rangers are playing they could even stream the match live for them...... <laugh><laugh><laugh>

The Stevie G's could organise buses to go up to porridge land every time they play.
Not sure if there are enough buses locally to transport them all up there though. :emoticon-0112-wonde:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

No need for the casual racism in this thread.

Or the hate for one of England’s finest. Other than being a great footballer and top bloke, he’s not done anything else.

I hate Celtic dominating Rangers, anything to get Rangers challenging again.

Steven Gerrard is on the verge of becoming the new Rangers manager.

If one person is going to stop Rodgers winning the league it will be Gerrard, he's already done it once before.

Not sure about Gerrard as a manager. Good player and all that but he never struck me as much of a communicator, time will tell.

Interesting possible appointment of Stevie Me.

I have a very Scottish scottish bloke working for me, depths of Glasgow etc, its quite amusing seeing him try to modify his accent, especially to Americans, when in front of clients or on the phone. Anyway I digress. He says there is no way Rangers can really challenge Celtic for probably at least 5 years. They are still truly crap (as the 5-0 recently has shown), are 30m in debt already, again, and it would take a completely mad Rangers supporting Multi-Millionaire or Billionnaire to pump the kind of money in needed to challenge - and that isn't going to happen with the economics of the SPL. So basically Rangers are ****ed and will be bridesmaids for the forseeable future, Stevie Me or no Stevie Me. It could be quite amusing to watch however.

Celtic aren't a bad side, but they've been shown up in the Champions League. They would struggle in the Premier League and be just about in the promotion mix in the Championship. Rangers are dire, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs not bad considering the league they play in, and the rest hardly worth bothering with.

I think the SPL should be closed, and replaced by a new Devolved League.

All the Scottish and Welsh teams could play in it, instead of cluttering up the EFL

So basically existing Scottish teams still play in it, but so would Cardiff and Swansea...and Chester since part of their ground is in Wales...and even Wrexham if they still exist

...and they’re welcome to Stevie G too
