Yeah the desert is full of creepy beasties. Done a fair bit of Travelling in the desert in Morocco and Mauritania on surf trips. Have to check your shoes and sleeping bags for Scorpions and I remember seeing some of the biggest ****ing wasps ever, nasty ****ers.
I remember telling the Mrs that we have big Dragon Flies where I live, she didn't believe me until she saw one. ****er sounded like it had an engine.
Hospitals, ****ing hate them. Always bad news unless you’re having a baby - which for some may still be bad . I think it’s mainly because I hate the sight of blood in a hospital. I’ve split my head open, knee open and suffered numerous amounts of cuts/ gashes, likewise I’ve seen people pissing out blood in the street from injuries - doesn’t faze me - yet the moment I see blood in a hospital my knees go like jelly and I have to look away, it’s ****ing weird, man.
I got stung by a hornet in a swimming pool when I was younger in Africa . Thumb didn't swell up very much ...
Hospitals never used to bother me as a kid. Always smelt sterile, like disinfectant, and were clean. Now when I walk into a hospital, it smells like old man fart, piss, and death. ****ing NHS going down the ****ter
Had roasted Crickets when I was younger at the Drive in Cinema in Africa . VERY TASTY . Not sure I could try them now though !!!
I'm the same. I've noticed I'm okay when I'm contained. It's when I'm in the open that I'm beside myself with heights. Which is why I've learned that my fear is actually falling to my death.
Yeah, **** rollercoasters, too. I've always been scared of them and never go on one. I don't feel secure in them, like I could fall out to my death.
I'll add flying to my list. Love heights but bloody hate flying. Been on planes as a kid and had no problem, in fact I used to like flying but now it's grown into a fear. Got no fear of animals mind. We've had plenty of 'weird' pets over the years; red knee tarantula, leopard gecko, stick insects. Looked after a python for a while too. Where I grew up it was fairly common to come across adders and grass snakes, had a few adders come in to the house back then too.
Do not ever ride the Cyclone in Coney Island. There's none of this over the shoulder padded clamp nonsense, just an steel bar that goes over your lap. Honestly thought I was going to come out of that car. Horrible .
Similar experience for me years ago in Turkey as a kid. Jumped in a kids pool and a hornet went up my shorts and stung my inner left leg not far away from the colonel. I just touched the same spot on my leg as I typed this which tells you the scar it left on my mind!
