What independent report? Was it written in crayon and carrying an Exeter postmark?

So the one that hasn’t been made publicly available yet, and who’s contents were known to Joe a couple of months back and he’s not concerned about? That one?

It will need more than £500m

Anyway updating the amount is a good opportunity to look at all those loopholes CIPFA found

I'd support it if Moshiri put his own money in, or the loan was arranged by someone more competent than Joe

Joking apart I hope EFC do build their new ground as the old one, though having many happy memories for their older fans, is a dump and well past its sell by date. If it is built then any contribution from Liverpool taxpayers should be minimal, and paid back. All premier clubs have a vast income from TV rights, etc so should not have to go cap in hand to a local council, as most councils are struggling at the moment cash wise.

The council won’t be paying a penny of it, the proposal is that they’ll borrow at their advantageous rates, and then EFC will pay both the loan and £7m a year on top for the privilege

Big Joe has managed a deal that will net the city council a profit of £7m a year. Money that can be invested.

That’s like a rag to a bull. It’s going to happen, too much invested by council and EFC now.

Can Joe be seen to be weak after all he has promised to give Everton?

It’s a complete shambles pal. The club should cover the debt. But by getting mates rates from LCC it keeps the cost down and makes cash for the council. So you can see why Joe backs it. What could £7m extra a year do for LCC??
