I'd have kept Coleman and actually backed him.

This! and i reckon the new owners, once confirmed and cleared by EFL, will probably already have someone in place ready to step in.

Who???? haven't a clue, but would love Keanno to come back. There's a poisonous vein running right through the squad and has been for ages, Di Canio saw it and i reckon Keanno would sort them out for sure.

Surely those who we suspect as being this poisonous vein will be shown the door next Monday anyway if whoever is left in charge ie Bain as their footballing ability or lack of pace has got to see the end of their careers.

Yes for sure, O'Shea is out of contract and as much as i like him, i reckon Cattermole is also part of the problem as well. If you think about it, they are the common denominator. I'm not 100% convinced that Bain is part of the problem either. Regardless, i think we need a clean sweep throughout the club and i'm sure the new owners will want that anyway.

Pearson ok, but Keane and Philips would be good. For me big Sam is my choice. Is Charlotte one of the lovely presenters on sky sports ? I hope Chris gets a job quick.

    Big no from me Nacho.

I don't want an old hero coming back with no managerial experience, trying to make a name for himself.

I want an experienced old bastard in charge, someone who'll take no **** and will drag us up kicking and screaming if necessary.

Phillips could be the next Eddie Howe or Jose, personally I’d like to see a fresh start, old managers, old results

Yeah I know where you're coming from and you're not wrong.

My thinking is that he's done his four years or so apprenticeship at two decent sides and if he's ever going to be a full blown manager then a club where he's a legend in a lower division is the perfect time and place for it.

Reconnecting with the fans is important for the coming season and I suspect that as long as there's investment in the team, which seems very likely, then even a rookie manager couldn't go far wrong in that league.

Phillips and Rae would get a big thumbs up from me. They are both young coaches moving up in the game, enthusiastic enough to take the time to get close to the players and sift the sh1t out of the dressing room while making the good guys feel the love

The crowd would react well, and the stadium would become a motivational factor again rather than something that works against us

This ain't blinded nostalgia - I don't want Mick Mac or Roy back. I just think these 2 could do a great job, and they both get SAFC

It'd be more appealing to me than a grizzled old timer with experience. Like you say getting the crowd onside will be a big factor the coming season and having those two in the dugout would be massive in that regard.

I totally get where you, @Nacho and @Bexinio are coming from on that score and you all make valid points.

I'd love to be won over and if they do get the job I'll back them 100%.

I'm yet to be convinced though.

Someone grumpy bastard like Pearson would suit me though.

Kevin Phillips is a hero, to me. I certainly don't want him getting the job because we have a terrible fan base that will get on his back after a few defeats and that will spoil all the good he done for the club. It wont be the same after that. I don't want that.

I had mixed feeling about this when I heard, but after thinking I like the idea. Because are Phillips and Rae Sunderland legends, they will have the goodwill of the fans from day 1. Momentum is huge in football, if (like we should) pi55 this league then that would get their managerial careers off to the perfect start. From the new owner perspective, it would mean instant return via ticket sales. I see this as a win win.
