Sunday is “Inauguration Day” at the new ‘ParisLongchamp’, even though they have already had several race meetings there since it re-opened.

With seven declared for the Prix Ganay, all eyes will be on Cracksman, making his reappearance for John Gosden. It is not inconceivable that Frankie will be forced to make the running on the son of Frankel unless Wren’s Day is intended as a pacemaker for Cloth Of Stars. Finche (behind Cracksman at Chantilly) ran abysmally behind Air Pilot in the Prix d’Harcourt on debut over course and distance. So the question is how fit is Rhododendron on her seasonal bow? With the sex allowance, she is closely matched with the Champion Stakes winner.

Gosden reported as saying Cracksman will be 80% fit as he doesn't like having them fully wound up first time out. I think Cracksman will be too strong and hopefully win comfortably; but 80% against a possibly 100% fit Rhododendron could be interesting

An 80% fit Cracksman should be more than enough given his likely improvement from 3-4..Rhododendron will definitely be less forward..O'Brien's runners are always half cocked at this time of year...fascinating race all the same...certainly not a betting heat for me though.

    Afternoon all

One for today in the 5:30 at Wetherby: Peachy Carnehan 8/1

Down to an all time low handicap mark of 60 with phillip Dennis claiming a further valuable 3lb. Has won four times previously off higher marks & all his wins have come in higher grades.

Der Kaiser who are you leaning towards for this years ridiculously good Kentucky Derby. Haven't been pumped for a race like this for a while

One of the best races ive ever seen. Justify is a monster and probably the best horse in the race but im against him, just think its the percentage call to take him on given his limited experience, he will be running against more horses in this race than he has faced in his 3 races combined I think. I dont think Bolt Doro or Good Magic will be good enough but id say both would be certain top 3 horses in a normal year, just not this year.

Im pretty sure that im with Mendelssohn but its really annoying that his only dirt race was on the biggest track bias of all time, it just leaves a doubt, normally id be against him based on that but even given the bias he was still impressive, his previous form and his pedigree make him a major player, and he has an experience edge over the two I rate as his dangers. The only other horse that could tempt me away from Mendelssohn is Magnum Moon, maybe if Mendelssohn draws 1 or 20. He got a very easy lead in the Arkansas Derby and drifted out to the middle of the track but I think hes another very talented horse who id be fancying strongly to win in a normal year.

My Instilled Regard just did not progress at all but hes managed to sneak into the field and will be staying on in the straight, probably for 5th or 6th at best. My Boy Jack is an interesting outsider if they get a downpour, hes a bit of a monkey but if the pace collapses he could run into the places.

Cant stand the Jumps stuff Captain. Bores me to tears. Uncompetitive, recycled drivel. Dire to watch imo.3 mile mudlarks treading water in the freezing cold and rain not for me. Id rather be sipping a Pimms and Lemonade watching the muscular thoroughbred equine beasts. strutting their stuff on a sun blessed champagne lawn. Just my opinion. One mans trash is anothers treasure.
