Yeah, fortunately they are usually outweighed many times over by nice, decent people. I've had many good times all over Britain and would never let a few twats ruin a place for me.
In my experience, you can either spot trouble and avoid it or go looking for it and it'll find you. I'm a nice person, and I think like attracts like.
Where did you grow up mate ? I spent my youth in some of the roughest neighbourhoods in South London, but I always managed to steer myself around the worst of the **** that went down. Just got on with doing what I was doing and never went out of my way to upset anybody. Not saying that trouble didn't find me, but I was always quick to extricate myself from those situations.
Sometimes it just finds you though Being Asian I've had some nasty situations when out with family in certain parts of the country. I think its worse when I'm with my white mrs, some people can't hack that I've had shoulder barges in Cheshire oaks and even a middle age woman go skitz at an outdoor market. I dont normally care but its hard with the kids. Remember in France we actually pulled up to a pizza restaurant and had the waitress come out to the car park to say we couldn't go in. Tbf she was very apologetic but it was a ****ty experience as I had the kids with me
Grew up in a decent area but as with most places there are always a few twats about. A lot of my family came from North Peckham estate so I've always considered myself lucky to live where I do. I will admit to sometimes causing unwarranted attention in my teens. Once bought a Cradle of Filth shirt and wore it several times around Southampton/Bournemouth; only problem with that was the front of the shirt had a nun ****ing off and on the back it said Jesus was a ****. Not my finest moment and not one I'd ever do as an adult but I wasn't always very sensible as a kid.
I have to because of the kids. I kicked off once and hammered a guy but my kids were in tears for ages. My lad who was little was a little scared of me for a bit. So I tend to try and walk away. Problem is some ****s think walking away is a sign of weakness I remember being in a cafe once with a 6 month old in my arms. Heard one of 3 lads on a table behind me say "****ing paki of he didn't have that kid I'd go over and smack him" Kid you not I couldn't eat. Never been so scared, not for me but thinking if it kicks off where do I put the baby. In the end gave keys to the Mrs and walked to the toilets behind the lads, thinking of they want to kicks off they will follow me. They **** it as I walked past but it wasn't pleasant Old lady who owned the cafe came sat next to my Mrs saying "is it OK if I sit and eat with you" . but wasn't much she could have done In the end nothing happened but **** me if I wasnt "pumped" for want of a better word
Used to work with a lad with that shirt He couldn't understand why it may be offensive. But he was 16 Have to say I got on great with goths and rockers. Think they got more **** that I did
That's ****ed mate. One thing dealing with a little prick like that on your own, but trying to manage that **** with a babe in arms. Sorry to hear you've had to deal with that nonsense.
Yep, North Peckham was as bad as it was portrayed. There was a thread on here the other day about all the horrible sink estates. I used to frequent a few of them Not really by choice, just where I grew up. But looking back, they were utter **** holes
Yeah still am, I'll happily listen to almost all types of music. Was heavily into Norwegian black metal but a lot of them took stuff too far, burning churches, killing homosexuals etc. Never wore corpse paint **** though.
That's awful fan. How anyone can do that **** to someone ever, let alone with a six month old is beyond me. Short sighted racist cretins.
Cheers mate I think the worse thing that can happen is you start seeing it where you may not have looked, if that make sense So if I'm in the lakes etc and a bunch of lads walks past I automatically tense up a little. Thankfully as i became aware I was doing it I try not to. Its life though so you get on with it, good and bad everywhere and as harry says I could have been a goth and white and got battered too
True story, the guy I mentioned before was too, big time. Now we used to get one of those sect people, who sell roses in clubs and pubs, in our place of work. It was a woman who spoke poor English but would wait for her lift Long story short, the van was in an accident so she waited with us for about 6 hours. As the conversation progressed she turned out to be the wife of a famous black metal drummer (can't remember who now as its not my thing) The rose thing was part of money raising for a cult
****ing dying ffs Pissed off as well cos pulled some proper fitty on way home but phone was dead so have got a smudged number on my hand Anyway, chilled out day with the boy today before going back to work tomorrow.
Getting ready to settle down and watch the Eredivisie this afternoon. I expect Arnhem to seal their place in the Europa league play off places. Kom op Vitesse!
about to play some geeky computer games after a longish day yesterday. Had some relatives round with their kids. Also watched red sparrow (which got **** reviews). I actually thought it was pretty good. 8.5/10
