    Annoyed with Liverpool for drawing with Stoke, but nothing strange about that. Being annoyed with Liverpool is my fall back position.

    Today was almost perfect for us. The most important results were ours, Huddersfields and Swanseas and they all went perfectly. Can't have it all go our way!

    We're almost certainly taking this to the last day now. OK, that's not necessarily something to get too excited about, given who our opponent is, but hey.

    If Huddersfield lose at City, and lose at Chelsea, then regardless of all other results between now and the final day, we will still be mathematically alive. Swansea might be more than three points ahead of us, but Huddersfield and Stoke won't be (and both will have weaker GDs).

    I thought Anthony Taylor did a fair job in the circumstances, but 5 yellows seems excessive, some of those fouls were no worse than what the Cherries (S) were dishing out and their attempts at shirt swopping went unnoticed, particularly on Hoedt in the first half.

    I've been more than vocal before about my dislike of PL match day experience and home atmosphere in general... but today was a timely reminder of something about me that'll never change:

    I ****ing love football.

    Not gonna go into much detail about the game cos had a few drinks <laugh> but atmosphere was brilliant today, particularly taking into account how much other areas of the ground were involved.

    So much adrenaline even now from that match, it looked like almost half the entire ground were standing for the final 10 minutes which was class.

    Fantastic stuff and no matter what happens from now I'm proud of our support - this from someone who has criticised it for a long time. Felt like we were truly the heart n spirit of Southampton today rather than just another souless PL club.

    Anyway...

    He couldn't win the cup, but he'll keep us up! Marky Marky Hughes....

    All the players made a massive effort to salute the crowd post game too. Good to see. They really put in the effort today. Tadic’s passion after his second was fabulous.
