Yes, Southampton FC Women are affiliated to the official club - they're the club that the club has applied for a licence in tier 2 of the Women's game for: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43516116 - jumping over both established Southampton Women's teams in the process. They're nothing to do with the official club, though, are they?
Check the email address of the team contact to see for yourself: https://www.hcwfl.com/team-contacts/They're nothing to do with the official club, though, are they?
I'd agree if it wasn't that by any normal reading of the rules the player was actually eligible. Hampshire FA are bending over backwards to accommodate a premiership club by playing semantics over the word "participate"There are rules...an annoying error was made but get over it. If you don't play by the rules, you are in a Mickey Mouse league....do the women really want that.
At this point in the competition, she had to have "participated" in it before in order to play. She'd been an unused sub in the cup a few times before, so by a normal person's reading she *was* eligible, after all subs get winners medals too. Hampshire FA decided to use their vague wording to accommodate a premiership club.does sound a tad harsh
why was the player ineligible?
was the player a bloke or something?
southampton beat southampton but southampton lodged a complaint which southampton appealed but the fa rejected southamptons appeal so southampton got kicked out and southampton took its place in the final and southampton are upset about it so KillerCephalopod is supporting Portsmouth now. Also, write the statement correctly. I still have no idea who beat who or who complained about what.
Indeed. Southampton complained about their 0-4 loss to Southampton. Also, write the statement correctly. I still have no idea who beat who or who complained about what.
There are three main women's teams in Southampton - Southampton Saints Girls & Ladies (formerly Red Star Southampton & once affiliated to the club until we were last relegated), Southampton Women's FC (never affiliated to the club, the most successful Women's team in Southampton & only Arsenal have won the women's FA cup more times) & most recently the club has launched Southampton FC women, currently affiliated to the regional talent centre based at the club and playing in a league well below the other two, but they've applied to jump up to the second tier above the other two by virtue of being backed by a premier league club. All three Southampton teams were in the semi-finals along with Pompey. Also, write the statement correctly. I still have no idea who beat who or who complained about what.
Yes, Pompey ladies are very good, I saw them against Southampton Women's earlier in the season. Totally unsegregated, it was weird but despite Southampton losing, it was great to see fans mixing without any trouble. Southampton FC also currently play in a league that allow rolling subs, so they aren't used to proper three subs rule like Pompey & Southampton Women who are much higher in the pyramid. The Pompey ladies are a very good side, so the team that won the argument may very well lose the battle. Though I would never hope that they do....supporting Pompey is a step too far.![]()
About that - the rivalry is with Southampton FC, I recently realised I've not been to a Southampton FC game all season but I've been to a lot of Southampton Women's games & even followed reserves & U16s results. They say you can't change clubs but Southampton Women U16 won the league cup this morning, against Bournemouth in the final. I have no idea what the current Saints v Bournemouth score is. I've been far too elated for the girls.supporting Pompey is a step too far.![]()
They already applied for a second tier licence according to the BBC:Like I said on another thread a few weeks back. There was plans to pump a lil money into Southampton ladies and have some of their games at ST Mary's. Also to start promoting them more. But it will be scrapped if we are relegated
It will be scrapped if we get relegated. I was talking to a guy that helps run it.They already applied for a second tier licence according to the BBC:

despite playing at tier 7 currently. The established Southampton teams play at Tier 4, one possibly Tier 3 next season (Southampton Womens FC are unbeaten all season so far, drawing only once. Plymouth Ladies are exactly the same, they are yet to play eachother with only three games of the season left.)
